The chant sucks, I agree. So lets get a Red-Blue chant going this weekend!
A red-blue chant would be great and I'm game for that.
I like that idea. The homecoming program had a Go Owls chant to be done the same way. The main stands say "Go" and the student section says "Owls"
I think everyone got a little off topic. Its simple, NO MORE "WHO LET THE OWLS OUT"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think it's unanimous the Who Let the Owls Chant should never be chanted again but I like the Blue and Red or maybe 1 side chants FAU and the other side chants Owls instead of Go Owls

I'll weigh in on this chant thing - once again. It was discussed on this board over the summer.
Although a lot of people consider the chant to be "dumb," etc. you have to remember - we are a young school. Half or more than half of the people on this board can't sing our fight song. We have nothing else other than "let's go owls" and "defense," as far as chants (that the general population knows).
I"WHO LET THE OWLS OUT IS SOMETHING." It's something that we can look back and say "people knew it and chanted it." EMBRACE people like the gentleman who started and keeps the chant going. We need 15,000 more of him - dedicated owls who come to every game both home and away.
Seriously….
- Y'all are talking crap about this guy,
- People (or at least a couple) have criticized the band, cheerleaders, Owsley, etc.
- Not on this board, but on the sun-sentinel blog, one blogger takes rips at the student spirit group, the prOWLers
- one or two posts talked about Clayton turning over the ball on purpose
As someone who is an avid Owl fan, I understand that some things could be different and we wish they were a little better. But EMBRACE what we have. If we keep saying negative remarks, saying outlandish comments about spirit groups, bands, cheerleaders, etc. or tell fans to SHUT UP after they are CHEERING for OUR team, WE ARE GOING TO LOSE WHAT WE HAVE.
Come on guys/girls. Let's be serious. If you are going to criticize something, let's make it positive and have an alternative plan - not just "give them something else to cheer."
Dollar-Mitty! You need to read all the posts before you type off a rant like this one. We just dont like the "Who let the owls out"!

The problem is getting any of the people on the south sideline to make ANY noise, let alone chant. They're so quiet over there.

Re: "Who let the Owls Out?" Chant
Home side chants one of the following:
1. Go!
2. Red!
And the visitors side chants:
***Bueller***
***Bueller***
-cricket sounds-
***Bueller***
Well, the visitors side chants nothing back because:
THERE ARE NO PEOPLE SITTING IN IT…….
Now, move the students over there, and we are good to go to stage two:
1. Owls!
2. Blue!
But i must agree with Coop…the chant "Who let the Owls out?" STINKS…gotta go…
Buh-Bye…….

Well we'll have to fix that. I know I am very vocal and I am very loud I usually come home most Saturday nights with no voice left. I know for sure that Nunzio42 is a lot louder then I am lol. Maybe we can get some loud people such as ourselves to sit on that side of the field and create some noise for a game or two just to get the people over there awake. Just don't want to piss them off I'm glad they're even there

Florida_Owl I like that suggestion maybe we can get the students on 1 side and some alumni on the other side try it out for a game just to see how it works out with a chant like that

Peyton, maybe you and your wife should bring her arse out there a few times a week and sweat your brains out learning the routines and songs. Then she can complain all she wants.
The band sounded great, the uniforms looked great, and with more numbers will be even more impressive. The key is getting more members and that means getting more high school band members to continue their careers at FAU, and current FAU music majors to contribute to the on-field product.
Seriously??? What does that have to do with anything??? There are a lot of schools – college and highschool with bands that are bigger and better, that sweat all the time in South Florida… thats no excuse..
i am not taking anything away from them, but I feel we need to have a few more bodies, before we show up in G Ville next time…
I say we add more Cheerleaders and DT members…. At least we can smoke most schools when it comes to that sort of talent ;D
there is a lot of frustration with how the school handles things, but you just have to deal with it, they will learn eventually…

Yes. There are strict rules as to when the mic can be used and when it can't be used. Some teams (like ULM) push the issue a lot more until finally the referees are tired of hearing them cry and tell us to shut it off. We are at the mercy of the referees. What we do/not do is a reflection of what we are allowed to do as "official representatives of the university." There's both good and bad sides of being officially tied to the university.
The refs are horrible as it is….who cares what they think….infact i saw 2 of them at Pop-warner games two weeks ago…..must be looking for some side money.
