"Who let the Owls Out?" Chant

I'm not quite sure how this started out as lets stop the who let the owls out chant to lets bash the band. I see no point in bashing a bunch of kids who are playing their hearts out and are doing great with what they have. The band are students also and many times you can look over from the student section and see the band cheering and yelling they are just as much into the games as we are except they're musically inclined and i'm not lol.

I say props to the band and keep up the good work.. Look forward to hearing your version of Apache at every game (that's the jump on it song).

"I know I have said this before, but the odds of us actually playing Freebird?
There are no odds. It is not going to happen.
We have no idea how to play Freebird.
Even if, pick your deity, came down from the heavens or wherever or the hills or wherever the deity lives and blessed us with this vast knowledge of Freebird. And we could play it backwards and sing it backwards.
We still just wouldn't do it.
If this were the Make A Wish Foundation and you were going to die in 20 minutes just long enough to play Freebird, we still wouldn't play it.
Here is the end reason.
The end reason is that life is just too f***ing short to hear or play Freebird."

Phil I don't think he had a mullet it was Miami not Gainesville but he was a middle aged guy, no fire helmet and I think he was wearing a blue fau shirt (I know narrows it down). He would just go down and stand on the stairs to where he was probably a few rows above where all the prOWLers were sitting and would just yell it really loud. It's a pretty dumb chant and I wish he would stop lol

Re: "Who let the Owls Out?" Chant

ahhh the glory days of FAU. I remember in 2002 when I was talking with someone in the football office and I said….I can't wait for the day until we have to put people calling in to FAUOWLS ticket hotline for tickets because of the demand.

That was answered in Dec 2003 with the playoffs.

Then I said to Paul Metcalf last year…I can't wait until we have a sellout in Lockhart Stadium. That happened this year

Now, after saying it to the prOWLers last year, we have come to another small milestone at FAU - actually getting annoyed by FAU fans cheering (although it might not be the catchiest phrase)

IT'S A GOOD PROBLEM TO HAVE!!!!!! lol
