I'm in. CUSA is definitely a step up. Teams like ECU, Tulsa and Southern Miss would put some butts in the stadium. Those 3 teams alone beats watching the Louisiana sisters and WKU. I am sold. Let's name the successor soon and move forward.
Not to mention S. Alabama joins the Sunbelt next year in football. Let's get out of this penny ante conference asap.

My concern about us moving is that we don't really know how stable the next conference will be. We move and then the others get raided, and we end up with a mess. Look at TCU…they jumped to the Big east and then Big 12. We won't be as lucky to move quickly if the bottom falls out of our new conference. Not sure wherever we end up and no matter what the name of the conference is, that it will be any better. A non-AQ is a non-AQ. It's a complete mess what college football has become right now.
Right, but if we don't move to the CUSA some other SBC teams will and that leaves us in a SBC adding 2-3 more FCS teams, and that is not a conference boost, they only bring us down. Look how long it took WKU, who was good on the FCS level to get up to getting wins in the FBS level.

I agree with you. I am saying the CUSA may simply be the new SunBelt. We like to think in terms of moving based on how the conferences look today, but they may be completely different tomorrow so I think that needs to go into the planning. Heck, the Big 12 and Big East have both been pronounced dead a couple of times in the past month so who knows how this will shake out.

The problem is SBC won't stay intact, any offer to any team and most will jump to the CUSA as the prospective "better place" So stable or not, more travel expense…. it's probably the best we go too!
An ASU fan pointed out that CUSA & SBC split-up realign would be the best thing financially and geographically.
"You can take:
ECU, Marshall, FIU, FAU, UAB, Troy, and South Alabama as an eastern core and add WKU and MTSU and have a decent league with far fewer travel issues and rebrand it as something new. If you want this group to have 12, Memphis, USM and ASU.
Then you can take, UTEP, UNT, Tulsa, Rice, UTSA, Tulane, Louisiana, Louisiana Tech, ULM. If you want 12 you can look at Texas State, Arkansas State, Memphis, USM, NMSU to come up with enough schools."
great idea for all, just will never happen, too logical.
