But yeah, it seems like an INCREDIBLE deal.
Wonder if they could do something like that for the Michigan State game…

this was passed by the SGA House of Representatives… out of the president's control (tony)

i work with tony on a lot of stuff for athletics… but this was completely allocated by the house of reps

but smitty seems to be right on when he says "students only"… it is a shame, but it makes sense since it's SGA allocating the funds

man, i'd be on one of those busses in a heartbeat, but i took every weekend off of work in december for the most part so i cant take this one off, especially at the last moment. i wish i was going so bad…better yet, i wish the band was going, then i'd HAVE to take work off cuz its a school function  :D

I might be willing to rent a minivan or a 10- or 15-passenger van or something if we get enough people interested. Would drive up all day Thursday and back Saturday. Anyone up for that? Would save huge money on gas.

A mini-van on sidestep.com came out to $292 for the trip. Divide that by five makes it $60 a piece or so.

Plus gas, right? I'd be interested.

I have a similar situation. I took off all last weekend for the UF game. I put in to be off for this Saturday so I could watch the Troy game and then go to the Burrow. I had no idea there would be a bus to Troy. Oh well. There will be enough people to enjoy it.

I mean… I hope they continue to do this. I would like to see SGA sponsor at least one away trip next season. I've said before that I think Michigan State (especially since we're more likely to win that one) would be great but Texas would be a cool experience as well (and the prOWLers could meet up with Smitty, although they'd probably raise money to go to the Texas game even if SGA doesn't have an official trip)

If they sponsored one away game per year, I'd like to see:

2008: at Michigan State (plane)
2009: at Nebraska (plane)
2010: at USF (bus)
2011: at UF (bus)

Big time atmospheres, giving students a much-desired chance to travel and be inspired by other school's traditions, potential for FAU to win if they continue to mature in talent…

Texas is the target game because they are higher ranked then the Spartans and it's more feasible travel wise.

I hope to see a good turnout of FAU fans and students. We don't get many opposing students in attendance at our games for some reason but I think a healthy opposing crowd is fun and makes the game interesting. As far as tailgating goes, Troy fans are some of the friendliest when it comes to just hangin' out and shootin' the shlitz.
