5 Questions Going Into 2010

Itís that time of year again and excitement is in the air. As Florida Atlantic prepares for a trip to Birmingham, AL to open the 2010 season on Thursday, here are five of the most significant questions waiting to be answered for the upcoming year:

1. Can RB Alfred Morris repeat his super sophomore year?

Morris was the surprise of 2009 after moving from FB to RB to replace an injured Jeff Blanchard. All Morris did was tally over 1300 yards with a 6.4 yards per carry average and 13 touchdowns. Expectations are high for the newly announced 2010 Doak Walker Award candidate. Morris has all of the physical tools for a repeat campaign in 2010. However, his success will depend heavily on a rebuilt offensive line. Also expect Blanchard to be getting in the rotation, which will mean that Morrisí carries might be down a bit from last year. Given the new O-line and Blanchardís presence I would be surprised if Morris exceeds the 1300 yard mark this year. Regardless, Morris should break 1000 and have a very nice follow-up year to his coming out party of 2009…

Re: 5 Questions Going Into 2010

Good write up, it's getting me excited for football season!

Housler wasn't hurt last year though, he redshirted so he could be the starter this year, no?

Re: 5 Questions Going Into 2010

The offense will have to be a patient bunch this season, it will struggle at times, but if they can advantage of every opportunities given….then we should be OK.† We still have enough weapons to keep the opposing defenses honest.† We all know† what can result from a banged-up OL, the difference, better overall athlete then in the past (hopefully that means they can develop quicker).

The games might not be the high scoring affairs and will provide fans with what they are accustomed to by now…nail biters.† The defense will be much improved and if they can create turnovers, which I think they can with a much more aggressive style of play…should help out the offensive some.
