Mike Burdman is the guy in charge of putting on the bonfire and such and is an alum of my fraternity(Alpha Tau Omega). The reason we got the Misfits is mostly because one of the members is his brother. I'm sure he got them to play for free or at least for a fair price.

Wow, I can't believe we could've had Jimmy Eat World at fau and didn't go with them.

The Misfits are a little old for Mikes brother to be in the band, no? I wasn't alive when the Misfits were formed and I'm pretty sure I'm older than him  ;)

Misfits invade FAU!?!?!?!  This is going to be awesome! ..  No offense to country music, but we tried that for the homecoming concert last year and the turnout was terrible, i wouldn't want to see the bonfire go out like that….beside, the misfits go great with the whole bonfire theme.  It's going to be a blast.

Make sure you get there for this one.    Wow…it's still over 2 and a half months away and were already excited!

Ok punk rock goes together with football like lamb and tuna fish.  The Misfits were famous in the 80's 90 percent of the kids will have no idea who they are. No kids are going there to rock out. Also the country didn't fail it just James Otto is not a huge name if it was a big name such Luke Bryan ,Jason Aldean there would be thousands in the end not matter what type of music it is unless it is a good names student do not care enough.

I think I said they went with the bonfire theme, which they do! ….I dont think football has a specific genre of music attached to it.  The past 3 years we have had local acts, a rock band one year and a reaggee band 2 other years and everyone had a blast.

Anyways. Still a MAJOR step up in the bonfire programing.

I was actually getting worried that OC40 hadn't hated on this idea yet, glad to see he's ok  ;D

OC40 has a point.  Many students today don't associate themselves with this style of rock, even the big named artists.
