Alfred Morris Makes a Splash in Sun Belt

Special teams and defense play a huge role in that…you expect our offense to be able to go on 95 yard drives every time we touch the ball??? Field position is the name of the game. If our D shows up and doesn't let them get to our 35 before a stop, then our O doesn't have to march the length of the field every time.

You're pointing the finger in the wrong direction

Defense Wins Championships and ours is atrocious

I tell you what, our D held up just fine on that last drive, if you remember. In fact, they were even disiciplined enough stay put on a bluff play to get an offsides. The decision to onside kick with almost 3:00 left and two timeouts is why we got pinned back by our goal line. Then, after we got the ball, penalties killed whatever hope we had. It was a team effort in defeat…

Were you at the same game I was at? lol. The D was NOT good on that last drive. you KNOW ULM is going to run the ball and it took almost the entire team to bring the RB down just short of the 1st down. If ULM had decided to go for it and 4th and 1 no doubt they would have gotten it

My two favorite teams are FAU, and who ever is beating FIU!

Re: Alfred Morris Makes a Splash in Sun Belt

Even when we've had good field position - In Columbia, Rolle gave us just that by bringging punts back to the 40 just about every time…what I have notice from the offense, they are not making the play when they need to.  Other teams are making them and we are not…drops at the most inopportune times kill drives that should lead to points…And not finishing drives.

With this offense these things shouldn't happen…hopefully they rectify the problems soon.

As far as the defense…we all knew they where going to be a work in progress…they will get better.

The FAU games I have been watching…Defense has been horrible…not sure how you can argue that if you guys are watching the same game I am?

Teambeer is the most knowledgeable FAU sports fan I know, way smarter than me.

Re: Alfred Morris Makes a Splash in Sun Belt

I dont think anyone is saying that the D has been stellar. It has not.

Its been ok, and has been improving every game as is to be expected from a unit that has not played a whole lot together.

They have kept the games close enough IMHO for our Veteran offense to take command and win.

To date, the O has not had that kind of performance yet.

I have come here to chew bubble gum and kick @$$ and I'm out of bubble gum.

Re: Alfred Morris Makes a Splash in Sun Belt

I understand that Defense wins Championships. The Defense has its bright spots ie. MLB Lockley leading  Sun Belt in tackles at his position. The D Line showing up vs ULM and contributing sacks and tackles for loss cox and Joseph. The defense getting a safety. They are improving and are beginning to gel. Walty if you call that horrible we don't know what you were watching ??? I agree that they need to and will improve however when will our veteran offense improve? ( they have had five years already)All we are asking for is 3rd down conversions and a few more TD's. But if you continue to badger the Defense and Blame them for the offenses Miscues "They will get better"

Read what I said. I didn't say they were good. I said they held up just fine on that last drive, which means they got us the ball back with some time on the clock. All I'm saying is they were not to blame for us having to drive 90+ yrds to score. The decision to onside kick is to blame for that.
