And FAU's Starting QB Heading into UF is...

Ha! I could've sworn he was around longer than that but you're right, 2005. I think I just got excited when we recruited him in 2004 bc his nickname was the "Hatian Vick"  ;D the only time I remember seeing him play was the game against FIU where we got smoked!

In my process of looking through the archives I came across FAU's most unrecognizable QB ever, Dane Hansen!

Bracewell needs some snaps, He will be the man soon. Worried about wilbert against those big defensive fronts he will face first few games, does seem to break easy. Little disapointed that he didnt get more time this fall camp, coaches seem very impressed with him.

I would definately have two styles of qb's ready for EVERY game, then adapt and if starter and/or style (drop back or more mobile or even running qb) is ineffective adapt and change to do whatever works against the D we are facing.

I am not so sure about this wilbert thing. I have been following FAU football since day 1 and I think we will end up with Kooi as starter after week 1 or 2. Schnellenberger tends to do this. Start the other guy to put fire under the guy he really feels is better. He did it to Rusty Smith and Jared Allen.

I personally think Kooi is better as well. Anyone have any thoughts on this theory? On a side note, I agree bracewell is the best qb, but Schnelly never starts a freshman qb.

I can't really make any educated guesses on who I think is better because I really haven't seen enough of either player to make any opinions.  But, with our opening schedule, I think it could be a good time to continue to let them both shoot it out.  As much as I want to be wrong, I really doubt we are a threat to UF/MSU/AU, so we can try some different strategies against a dynamic defense, instead of our own teamates.  Three games against good defenses is a lot of playing time to determine who is better under pressure, and who can lead the team even if we're getting destroyed.  The guy who can keep the team together when the score is 31-3 at halftime is the guy I want as QB when we enter our regular schedule.

But who knows, maybe schnelly will throw us all for a loop and go buck wild in his last season.

You have been following HS!  I said this same thing verbadum to somebody late last week.  I think he is putting Wilbert in there while the offense figures itself out and then will put Kooi in there after things mesh a little more and the opposition isn't so stiff.  It would kill the "real" starters confidence to start him with a shaky o-line at Gville in a game that we really have no chance of winning.

I wouldnt be suprised to see Kooi QB most if not all of the 3rd quarter saturday.

Teambeer is the most knowledgeable FAU sports fan I know, way smarter than me.
