Anybody who financially can, absolutely should do this trip.

Our 2003 New Orleans Bowl experience against North Texas was the first bowl game for our Tigers in 32 years. So for many of us Tiger fans, it was our first bowl game ever.

It was something that none of us will ever, ever forget.

My wife and I made this trip with very, VERY little cash to spend. We just barely had enough for our room, a couple of meals, and gas. But we knew that there was absolutely no way that we could miss this. We were only down there for two days, but it was a two day experience that we still consider one of the most memorable trips we've ever taken.

Do not miss this first bowl game for your Florida Atlantic Owls. There may be other bowl games in years to come, but I can promise that you will always regret it if you miss the first one.



Nice post, I really hope some of the students on the fence read this make the right decision to go.

I promise you will never forget the experience if you go.

I can't believe how difficult it is to sell my "friends" on making the trip.  We typically go to all home games, made the trek to G'ville..but between the holidays and time off from work, everyone has an excuse.  If push come to shove, I'm going by myself.  I'm sure I can hang with some of ya'll!!!

BTW, we have always said we would travel near or far for FAU's first bowl appearance.  Guess my friends are all talk!

Finally made it happen.  We will be driving up Thursday night and leaving N.O. Saturday mid-day.  Car is full, but if anyone is interested in a caravan, let me know!

Baller, where are you leaving from? I'm on the fence with this one, really want to go. Trying to convince my sig. other that this is a Christmas present for myself and that I've been a good girl and deserve it, will take some doing. I love my Owls, can't help it.  :D

Think of it this way - The SunBelt may lose this game in the near future. Go now or risk missing it.

There isn't a better game week experience anywhere, except for, maybe, the Sugar Bowl. Where else can you walk from party to bar to party high-fiving friends and fellow fans of your team day and night? The sights and sounds are amazing and the hotels are relatively cheap. The game can't be rained (or snowed) out.

Proudowl, I'm driving from Plantation, stopping in Fort Lauderdale and Jupiter for the rest of the gang.  Hope to leave Jupiter by 9pm at the latest.

We are leaving on Wednesday after work at around seven or eight.  should be there pretty early on Thursday. Sleep a couple of hours and start the party. Just thought I would let you guys know, we checked with the hotel and asked about parking they have very little parking so for the most part its valet parking at 30 bucks a night. This is at the Sheraton.
