Re: Are we making progress? A comparison of 2011 and 2012 Spring Games

The offensive numbers look better as a whole but spring games don't tell us much.  For instance,  Wilbert and Kooi combined for 18-29 for 204 yards in Spring game '11.  Not too bad….then compare that to the season they both had…Aargh

But I think the spring game does help coaches in the weed out process.

There is no doubt huge progress has been made though.

Throw all those old numbers out the window. Everyone is starting from scratch with the new system.

when the two worst teams in the country play, somebody has to win, that's what these numbers tell me.

Until the MTSU game, all judgement withheld.

You're missing rushing yards from the QB for this years spring game.  They ran a lot more designed QB draws than I've ever seen here and kept the play-calling extremely vanilla.  I don't think you can infer anything from these numbers.

Spring games mean nothing.

Especially when we consider the players that were not here yet:

Glinton, Mitchell, Burton, Mckinney, Gilchrist <- and that is just WR/TE. Also Martese Jackson and a little guy named MG3.
