I'm happy that we won. I'm certainly grateful for that. I agree with others that it was our most complete effort to date, though I would not be happy if we ended the year only scoring two offensive TDs.

I'd like to see 4 offensive TDs a game by the end of the year (hopefully sooner). I'd also like to see more pass production and be able to stretch the field with the long ball.

So in that way I'm not satisfied because as far as I know there's really only one other team (FIU) as bad as USF was on our schedule. There are going to be plenty more challenges ahead, lots of tight games.

I don't wanna come off as ungrateful. Any win is definitely a good win (especially with this team) but I suppose I expected more production is all. If it takes a dink and dunk style of play to keep drives alive, so be it as long as the Ws keep coming.

This team (and especially offense) is a work in progress.  It's going to take time for this to become the offense we want all want to see on a consistent basis, but Saturday was a big step forward.

I think it's safe to add S. Miss to the list as well. However, 3 "gimme" wins isn't going to cut it. Hopefully the offense can learn from the positives (even though they were few and far between).

We have Quez for 3 years and the freshman for 4 so thing in that regard are looking up. The O line and O only allowed 1 sack against a pretty good D1 D line (including ND transfer and freshman AA Lynch who did NOTHING)!

But we have to continue to develop the OL and recruit more BIG bodies in todays game (on both lines actually). Most decent D lines have 300+ lb. DT's and many DE's over 270!

It's apparent Pelini would rather give some experience to a younger QB than invest any more time in MG3, hence his apparent demotion to WR . I'd like to at least see a few plays with MG3, even if it's out of the Wildcat. Let's see if he has any game. Put him in some gadget plays, whatever.

The hype was almost to the same level as the Mike Leach rumors.  I kinda feel cheated.  :Big-Grin:

Soooooo tired of hearing "work in progress" since the beginning of LAST year.  Enough already!  How much longer before we see REAL progress.  You guys have gotten really soft.  Do you REALLY expect the defense to carry the entire season?  Come on!  Wake up!

You do understand how college football works, right? We can't just go out and sign some free agents to fix the problems.  It takes time.  I'm sorry that you don't want to wait a full year for the team to go from the worst team in FBS to Bowl contention, but that's reality.  Have you seen how long it has taken UM to get back on track?

And really, if you are a "former FAU fan", why are you even here in the first place?  There are plenty of other teams you can go follow.

Why do you consistently have to insult someone when they post on this blog?  And yes, I absolutely DO understand how college football works.  What I don't understand is if college football is the subject why you free agents which applies to pro football.  Agreed, it has taken UM quite a while to get back on track but I am just looking for SOME progress - not just from the defense.  By the way, if you check the stats, the defense was in pretty good shape BEFORE Pelini got here so the fact that they are playing well is not such a monumental achievement.  Also, I wasn't aware that this forum was a private one that only the same 10 or 15 guys post on over and over again.  Take you meds.
