This reporter is also trying to keep the FA-who thing going and did a very bad job of it and for that matter the "who" has already been defined. You miss the boat on this one Peter boy.
We all know what type of coach Schnelly is and this guy is probably jealous that Schnelly if roaming the FAU side line instead of UF's.

"Thanks for your e-mail. I was beginning to wonder if anyone really gave a hoot about Owl football. Your e-mail makes only two from FAU fans in my inbox. Oh well.
I don't think the column was nasty as much as it was sarcastic. Keep in mind that your own coach is saying that a "terrible" mistake has led him to where he is today. What does that say? I think if you re-read the column, you'll see that it wasn't a putdown of FAU football as much as it is pointing out that it's obviously a huge comedown from where Howard was, and where he could still be today.
Also, keep in mind that if you want to be a big-time football program, then you have to be willing to take some shots – on and off the field. It goes with the territory. Also, no excuses. 2-9 is 2-9.
The reason why FAU is playing Clemson is because big-time programs, if they can, like to schedule pushovers in their openers, as you pointed out with Florida's and UCF's openers. When major programs want to avoid playing you in their opener, then you know you've arrived.
Again, thanks for your e-mail and your feedback.
Cheers,
Peter "
