To answer your questions, there are different layers but they all sit on the edge. It is the director?s show and I could see how it would be easy for him to hide it from the ?higher ups? but it?s even easier for them to find anything out. Athletics meets with the director every Monday and info is shared there. Plus they run game day so they say when the dancers come out or if they want us to play ?Shout? and so on.

As for the controversial set question if they had a problem with music the show?s are known at the start of the season and they could always ask what pieces are in each show. But I doubt they would even know what we would be doing visual wise until they see the performance. Usually during practice the only athletics around is the football team because we practice on the practice baseball field next to the Oxley and on dress rehearsal at Lockhart only the grounds crew was there.

If anyone in the office of Music had a problem with something that couldn?t be solved within that department I doubt it would get much higher then the dean of arts and letters. The president?s office just gives us the money.

As for your Kenny G/Quincy Jones question, it made me laugh. I?m sure you know Kenny G is a soloist and that would be way hard to work that onto the field, doing a whole song as a soloist. But to answer that exact question you could put both in the same show and call it some type of jazz show. But if your asking if two departments want different shows, like I think your asking, I?d say athletics gets first pick because that who we are playing for. Now if it was the President asking I?m sure that it would be worked out between the two offices.
