I thought FAU looked a big bigger and sounded tighter, moving in the right direction.

The band looks small and I don't understand why if the student population has grown.
Is it a budget thing?

I thought they were very good, but I also thought it was 100% disrespectful that they came out while the FAU band was playing, and then about 200% disrespectful when as they stood on the sideline they started their performance (whistles for the first line to step on to the field) while the FAU band was still performing.
I am coming from a small school that has an award-winning band (Western Carolina University - look them up), and I was entertained and a little perturbed all at the same time.

I had my daughter look it up at the game (she has internet because she is on the FAU Wi-Fi - not so for me). BCU has 3994 students. I am just estimating, but between the band, dancers, flag team, and cheerleaders that appeared to be about 10% of the student population.

It takes a lot to get a band that size into position. I for one almost wish the FAU band had skipped their halftime performance this week. They looked silly in comparison to the BCU band. I for one am getting sick and tired of our band getting outsized and outplayed by bands from lower divisions and lesser conferences. It was embarrassing watching Akron a MAC team bring a better band to the bowl game in our own hometown.

No doubt BCU has an excellent band, just like my school does. But WCU is rarely allowed to travel or given the stage for at least half of the halftime. If FAU is inviting them for their band, have a band weekend instead of a football game. There was at least a dozen Bethune fans sitting behind me yesterday who were raucous for every single thing the band did, then were MIA in the second half when their team actually played better.
