Like Tim said, you punch the ticket and if you leave the deck you have to get a wristband for re-entry. This way not everyone has to wear it but it will stop the sneaking in (local owl and doc…have you figured it out?).
Of course. I knew before we started talking about it.
I'm just at odds with most people about this whole thing so I'll let you guys hash it out.Posted On: Jun 23rd 2014, 10:49 PM #332150
Just joking with you guys, I know you know how it works.
I don't understand why people who are not of legal age should not be allowed to purchase beer in the stadium. Maybe it is me being fed up with the Big Brother syndrome going on this country. Are we going to only allow certain size soda and limit them to one piece of pizza as well? Maybe I am more of a libertarian that I thought but it's none of my business if someone buys a beer, if they get out of line they get escorted out.

I agree, but there is a reason 99.5% of the universities do not do it at their stadiums. As long as they are doing their due diligence, then so be it. If the extra beer sales brings in an extra $100K, but the extra security required is $120K, then probably not a great idea.
I am not writing a million dollar check to help out the program (and not many others are either) so if they need the money, they need the money.
We would have all given our right eye 10 years ago to be having conversations about beer sales in our on-campus stadium!!

The issue here is not "big brother", its real liability and all the risk is on our school and in our brand new stadium that we worked so hard to get.
Fights, alcohol poisoning, injuries, underage drinking, drinking and driving all come into serious play when you are serving throughout the entire stadium. If they go on now we can deal with it, if they go on because of the alcohol we are serving…its can become a serious issue.
I understand these things can happen with the current drinking system, however the thought is on the same line as a higher end bar…you charge a cover (our donation), the riff raff goes away and lowers the risk of the actions I mentioned above happening.
We need to focus on building a team that people will come see without having to get drunk to do so. If we have to play another away cash game to make up for this, I'd rather see it.

It's not a big brother thing, it's a perk for purchasing better tickets and donating to the program/stadium fund. Anyone of legal age can purchase a beer if they pay the freight to sit in the section of the stadium where beer is served.
