best team in fl?

best team in fl?

How can you possibly put UCF ahead of FAU? USF, FSU, UF OK that I agree with.. UCF? What was so special about their season? They almost beat Texas? Yeah.. so we ALMOST beat USF. We played a tougher schedule then them and we would have beaten them had we played them. C-USA is nothing special it's not like UCF had a good season in the Big East. At least USF had to play WVU, UConn, Cincinnati, Auburn, a difficult game against FAU and a tough Oregon team in their bowl game. We played Kentucky, UF, USF, that's 3 ranked teams. UCF played 2 ranked teams in Texas and USF. Just my opinion but it's not even close FAU is ahead of UCF

1. UF
2. USF
3. FSU (even if they had a down year they are still better than us)
4. FAU
5. UM
6. UCF
7. FIU

you can even flip flop 2 and 3. As long as Bowden is there FSU will still continue to get top recruits

My two favorite teams are FAU, and who ever is beating FIU!

UCF is NOT a better team than us - they are one demensional at present…and USF is BARELY ahead on overall talent level right now, and i mean barely…

This is as of right now:

UF
FSU
USF (By a nose hair)
FAU & UM (Tie)
UCF
FIU

Projected next year:

UF (but not by much)
FSU & UM
FAU, USF
UCF
FIU (yep, still at the bottom)

While I would like to think that we would have beaten UCF there is no way to be certain. I don't think they are very far ahead of FAU. I just think that they had a little more momentum throughout the course of the entire year.

Maybe a better way to look at it is how we pick teams going into next year. In that case I put FAU above UCF.

Pre-season picks for 2008.

  1. UF
  2. FSU
  3. Miami (they will bounce back)
  4. FAU….USF (I call it even)
  5. UCF
  6. FIU

I agree Florida_Owl. UCF is not that good of a team. They have 1 good player that's about it. UM will be good because they are UM and I hear they have a good QB coming in, plus I'm sure there's someone playing there that's related to Edgerrin James or Santana Moss lol

I'm surprised we haven't had any UCF or FIU people chime in since we've been talking about both schools as of late.

UCF probably has more than one good player since they held Mississippi State to ten. Even if MSU is a bad SEC team they still recruit SEC-level players and that has to stand for something. But then again, Kevin Smith's numbers indicate that he handles the ball a LOT and if you can stop him, you can pretty much put the cork into UCF.

Same thing with Florida yesterday. It looked like Michigan did two things well…
  1. blitz the hell out of Tebow so he made bad throws
  2. Cover Percy Harvin so he can't catch anything

Since Kevin Smith runs the ball for UCF and we're not good at stopping teams that run the ball, I'm not sure we would have beaten them… I think it would be a high-scoring game and I look forward to FAU playing UCF in the NO Bowl next year… hopefully our running game will have improved with Xavier Stinson and MB and our running defense will have improved with Pinnick back and some good recruits.

As an aside, here's a funny blog about the UCF Bowl game

Michigan put up over 500 yards of offense as well.  UF's defense is a joke.
