Also he ranks FSU so much higher than FAU and yet ole Rusty and company put up more points on the defending national champions, and that was all in one quarter.  If we hadn't been concerned with protecting Rusty so we could make a run at the Sun Belt championship and New Orleans Bowl with him healthy, who knows what the score would have been.

I know it may be hard for you to understand, with FAU apparently becoming the next Southern Cal after your monumental win over a middle of the pack Conference America team, but I don't think you can compare a rivalry game with FSU and the game with FAU and you cannot expect the players to get up with the same effort playing FAU, except maybe for the 2nd stringers.

Until they play Miami in a good year, USF in a good year, UCF in a good year, and FAU in the years to come, I have no respect for them.

Buddy, you do realize that we don't control the destiny for these teams and how well they perform on the field. Should we just wait till these teams you listed are having a successful season then invite them to an empty lot for some flag football? I don't understand your statement. Schedules are made years in advance.

How'd you do in your bowl game?

Don't give me "We played Michigan, you played Memphis" garbage. A W is a W doesn't matter who it is over. Don't forget buddy who the fastest start up program to get to and win a bowl game is, it's sure as hell not UF

My two favorite teams are FAU, and who ever is beating FIU!

Re: best team in fl?

Why do you insist on coming on an FAU message board and crying to us?  If we had left Rusty in at the game this year you would have seen what he can really do.

Fact - UF has a losing record in its bowl history.

Fact - FAU needs to lose in our next two bowls to have a losing record. Miami, FSU, and FAU are the only teams with winning records in bowls.

It took UF 58 years to win its conference, FAU it took 3.

Year for year FAU is a better football team than the University of Florida, and if we continue to do well and beat UF in 2011 I guarantee they will not schedule FAU again (until we start to do badly).  Same if Miami wins next year.  The point is UF has had alot of time to do something with their football team.  In 58 years we expect to have at least 20-30 conference championships…not 1.

Noone said we were the next Southern Cal.  But you better start getting up to play for us because it is that sort of smugness that loses football games.

And no UF has no control over the success of the other teams, but is it strange that historically they only schedule teams like Miami when they are down and out? No.  I just hope Hawaii and Miami teach you a lesson next year in the swamp.

We get it, UF is awesome.  You must have a sad little life to come on FAU's message board to prove a point.

Like things, love people.

We want to be just like UF.  We really hope to follow in your footsteps…in 83 years, I'm coming on your message board and rubbing our first National Championship in your face.

Go Owls!!!

Interesting note about the Swamp. When first founded,

"Florida Field” (as it was first known) was completed in 1930. It was built in a shallow ravine (possibly an old sinkhole) and almost all of the original stands were below ground level. Comprising approximately all of the lower half of today’s east and west stands, the capacity was about 22,000."

yup…

and to further that argument…

Doak Campbell Stadium (in my opinion, the most beautiful stadium in the entire country… my opinion, i understand, but it's still what i feel) used to look like THIS:

everything takes steps… like you said: the swamp went from 22,000 to 90,000… we'll be there soon, my friends… not 90,000 soon, but we'll be to 50,000 screaming Owls fans soon, my friends

Let's be honest, though.  Football was quite different back then.

What wasn't different back then?

exactly…

i wish i had information on that picture, but can't find anything other than the picture… no date, nothing… but it's easy to tell that street is what-is-now-known-to-be Stadium Drive, so it's clearly Doak

my point is: Florida Field started off 22,000 seats and is not 90,000… Doak started off with just two sideline bleacher stands and built it into an absolutely breath-taking stadium…

with time… with time… Rome was not built in a day!
