Big East to make the next move? Memphis and/or UCF???

there might be something between the lines…

As usual, Marinatto did not go into detail as to what the league might do in terms of size.

Here's the bottom line:

To completely rule it out simply rediculous.  Money changes anything!

Like I said, nothing may come of this. The commish has a responsibility to deny this until the pen touches the paper, just like a CEO wouldn't talk about an acquisition before it's actually complete. It's called covering your balls.

But, the talks in the past week have been real. That much I can tell you.

Also remember that the Big 10 has scheduling issues now that they added only Nebraska- ESPN lays it out pretty well today. I wouldn't be surprised to see them take Rutgers or Pitt.

Not sure why 13 teams would help them with scheduling more than 12 teams…for the long term.

East Carolina give a conference basically nothing from a media market perspective, the one that actually matters the most today!

Also, this still would only bring the BigEast up to ten teams, two short of being able to hold a conference championship game. And that is assuming they don't lose anyone else to Big10, ACC or SEC expansion should that hapen. So as I see it they still need two more programs to come on board, bare minimum to possibly remain an AQ conference..

Actually I don't think they want a championship game. They're already fighting a huge uphill battle to ever get a team in the NC game, and the last thing they'd want is a Championship game to knock out a potential NC game team.

That's obvious.  I was making a comment on why adding just Nebraska and bringing the total to 12 teams would cause scheduling problems.

it wouldn't surprise me that MAC, Conference USA and Sunbelt have a lot mixing together. If you Houston goes to the Big 12 and the Big East picks off a couple of teams.
