I would rather this program attract a solid fan base slowly - then attract the fair feathered fans where they loseinterest as soon as the team loses one.
With an average of over 10,700 for the season, this shows that the fans are coming. IMO, the number of fans that turned out on saturday was not as important as the possible new fans that may have seen their first FAU game and that will return next year.

The fan base as far as alumni will grow as more of us graduate. This year is the first year that FAU has felt like a big college, from drinking beers a wackadoos to searching 20 min for a parking spot. I remember when I first went there it took me 10 sec.s to find a spot, its amazing at how fast it has grown.
I agree. I think the main problem with past alumni(not all), was that they had no real connection to the school. There were no sports teams to get behind, and it was very much a commuter school. That has just recently started to change. As more current students come through, I think there will not only be much more student support, but also alumni support. It takes time. We just have to be patient.

I will wear it to Gainseville this weekend for the FHSAA State Championship games too. Lots of unexposed players and fans will be there!

Sounds awesome O.G. hopefully there will be a lot of the kids there that make comments. 8-) And If they say anything bad, tell them to check the records in the state. ;)
I've heard nothing but positives all year.. ;D A few have second thoughts about not coming to FAU. Two went to UCF and 3 went to USF. One played at UCF and one is playing sparingly at USF. The funniest is from ex Bucs QB Shaun King''s brother Cedric King. He went to USF and couldn't even crack the line-up. He even moved to CB and WR. Same results. He was highly recruited by other schools and even FAU in 2000. He laughed us off and went to USF. Last I heard he was off the team and back home in St Petersburg.
