Blue Out - November 8th vs. UNT...

I'm not sure when or who planned the "Blue Out" for the Troy game but I do know the people in charge of planning all the Homecoming events have had a "Blue Out" planned for this game for a while. If people would help them out or at least find out what's going on maybe we wouldn't have this problem. Communication between the different departments is what is missing here.
I agree but this is FAU, unfortunately no one is ever on the same page. The Destroy Troy shirts were cool and we can use them again next season and for BBall and even baseball. Even a mix of shirts between Destroy Troy and True Blue should be handed out and for once they should do it right and they'll see the result

Whenever SGA does something for an athletics event, it's usually Chief Justice Mike Burdman running it with the help of Speaker of the House James Tobin, SG Prez Abe Cohen, VP Ed Fulton and various fraternity brothers (Burdman's brothers in ATO mostly though I think Cohen is SigEp so there may be some SigEps helping as well).
Burdman's been very on top of all of this, making the Bevo sculpture, the True Blue shirts given out at the Spring Game, the Destroy Troy shirts and the recent Pep Rally with the Spirit Cup. I don't know if he's involved with Homecoming but I'm sure he probably has a hand in it. In any case, he has done a fantastic job carrying the torch that Jared Torres (who planned the road trips for students and made shirts last year) lit and they both deserve our respect and gratitude for that.
One shirt (like the True Blue shirts) could be made for all events but if you ever catch up with SGA in the Breezeway before these games, students come up all excited to get the game-specific shirts. It's just fuel for the fire. So you could make the argument that game-specific shirts are better because of that excitement. At the same time… I have a bunch of game specific T-shirts that I no longer wear except as undershirts so I see where you guys are coming from there.

Here's the blue out shirts. They are selling them online, maybe for those who aren't students? Seems kind of dumb to sell them, they need to be handing them out at the gate.
I couldn't agree more! I'm not paying $15 on a blue shirt that # 1 is the wrong kind of blue and # 2 I have a True Blue Shirt, and a Destroy-Troy shirt. Even if I didn't have any of those I still wouldn't spend money on this shirt

would make more sense to not put the game on the shirt so that is could be used over and over again?
That would be asking our marketing department to do something thoughtful. They're useless.

I'm with you guys. I have too many game-specific FAU shirts that are pretty much worthless.
I have a TRUE BLUE shirt and that's what I wear to every game. I don't need a BLUEOUT North Texas shirt. I'll wear one if someone gives it to me but I'm certainly not paying for it… sorry

A study was done a few years ago on marketing and giveaways in higher education. The results showed that people were more apt to go to an event if there was event-specific giveaways, such as shirts with dates, cups with dates, etc.
