Blue Out - November 8th vs. UNT...

Hey you guys toot your own horns as much as you want, just keep making "good" products.  As long as it does not get obnoxious, you should be proud of what you have accomplished, I know I am.  but back to the topic……

Yes, FAU has done a much better job over the last two years with merchandising, but it is very limited, and contrary to what the bookstore tells you, not everything is on the website.  Flagcraft does make nice flags, but while that is great for you local guys, out of town people like myself have no access to that stuff.  I definetly wish the license was more affordable, I would love to see every store have our stuff.  I have lots of friends and family that want FAU apparel, and I either don't order it early enough for the holidays, or the stuff that I do find is just…..well, ugly.  I know smitty was worried about "cheapening" our brand, but in my mind, the stuff FAU puts out is crap.  I have 3 FAU shirts in my collection, and the only one that I really liked was from the games last year, with the schedule on the back.  I finally got grease on it, so now it's done. >:(.  But license or not, I really like the stuff you guys have created at owls gear and the dirty birds, I will be picken up some new shirts shortly.

GO OWLS!

Don't know about the golf stuff but the flags you can buy at the bookstore or at flagcraft they don't need to be specially designed. The tailgating chairs can also be purchased at the bookstore. They just came out with them before the Troy game. They were selling them there as well

The bookstore has (for tailgating) a tent, a chair and a 3x5 vinyl flag ($50 tho  :-\ ). All good stuff. Two apartment complexes on 20th Street are flying FAU flags.

I'm pretty sure they don't have golf stuff except for special FAU Owl balls. They do have small plastic FAU footballs, foam fingers, seat cushions and even one of those crazy blue hair wigs.

The clothing and hat selection is awesome at the bookstore. I'm glad that took off. It's been cold the past couple of days and the FAU hoodies are out in full force on campus.

I'm waiting for more of the vanity plates to come in… I'm looking for the metal one with the winged FAU letters. I'd also like to get an FAU cover for my (MetroPCS) phone but nobody seems to have it.

They did just get some new plates in…. they also have FAU Christamas ornaments now

I agree Duder I wish it wasn't so much money for licensing in say 10 years if we're a top 25 team then sure that's the price to pay for a top football school. Right now they should make it as cheap as possible so that they're stuff is everywhere let everyone make it especially if it's really cheap to get a license the more the merrier.

I do like what OwlsGear and Dirty Birds have done. They aren't the same shirts either so you can buy from both companies and have some cool FAU shirts

My two favorite teams are FAU, and who ever is beating FIU!

They are announcing the "Blue Out" on radio commercials for the game.  Heard one earlier this week on sports radio.

Re: Blue Out - November 8th vs. UNT...

I hope the old folks show up wearing blue on saturday. I  don't know if they have access to the internet or our blogs and that could be a communication problem.
If you don't have an FAU blue t -shirt, please wear something blue.

GO OWLS!!!

there is no need to charge recent grads/students 10,000 bucks for a license……give me a BREAK!
i dont know a single student/recent alum that can flip that bill on their own…..

Dexter LaMont says it's $75…?

I hope this message finds you well. Craig asked me to respond on his behalf regarding the license fee. There is a non-refundable application fee of $75 for a new applicant. The only other fees that are collected on behalf of FAU are royalties that are generated through the sale of licensed merchandise (8%). Thanks for your continue interest in the growth of your alma mater, Florida Atlantic University.

Re: Blue Out - November 8th vs. UNT...

hmmmm  interesting.

I know there is a difference between getting licensed to sell stuff and licensed to MAKE stuff  to hand out for free (like the Destroy Troy shirts)
