No offense, but having the bonfire on the beach would be a terrible idea.

Not to mention it would probably be a bigger hassle to get the permits and such for the beach.

The bonfire is to celebrate FAU, not the beach. It needs to be at FAU.

Yes, you did have a bonfire. You may want to take some lessons from Texas A & M, now they have BONFIRES. Hope you all had fun and are geared up for your game with the HUSKERS, as well you should be. For those of you coming to the game, welcome. Enjoy next Saturday while you can (1st quarter maybe). Afterwards lets get together, forget the thrashing we give you, and drink up. GO HUSKERS!!!!

Agreed. Personally I don't think we stand a chance but that's why they play the games. Texas A & M  is known for their bonfires. This is only our 2nd annual bonfire. We've had others in the past but not quite like this. First bonfire I was at, was at the site of what is now the Oxley. We thought we were playing Cornell in the first game so we threw a Big Red Bear into the bonfire and the good year blimp flew up above and said Football In Paradise. This had to be like circa 1999 or so. There were MAYBE 100 people there and we thought it was a success

My two favorite teams are FAU, and who ever is beating FIU!

Husker Ron, welcome to the forum!

As Jab mentioned, A & M does have some great bonfires…

On a side note: R.C. Slocum's 14 year hiatus at A & M (123-47-2) was the best thing to ever happen for that program…but, too bad what happened to him at the hands of the administration's thirst for winning…should have listened to his pleas for better facilities…they have gone downhill since his time, while posting a 36-37 mark…

Looking forward to next Saturday! Go Owls!
