Bowl projections as of December 3, 2017, Bowl Selection Sunday [Edited]

CBS Sports                FAU vs. USF                            Thurs, December 19        St. Petersburg Bowl
ESPN Bonogura          FAU v. FSU                              Wed, December 27         Independence Bowl, Shreveport
ESPN Hale                 FAU v. USF                              Thurs, December 19       St. Petersburg Bowl
SBNation                   FAU vs. USF                            Tues, December 19         Boca Raton Bowl
Sports Illustrated       FAU vs. SMU                            Tues, December 19        Boca Raton Bowl
USA Today                Houston vs. FAU                       Tues, December 19        Boca Raton Bowl

I suppose if one argues that Boca Raton wouldn't want FAU because it would decrease the number of visitors to the area, then the same would be true for USF in the St. Pete Bowl.  Another potential invite would be FSU to the St. Pete Bowl.  We'll find out shortly.

Thank you for pointing this out.  I keep smiling and nodding to be cordial when people bring up how great it would be to play USF in St Pete and how bad it would be for the Boca Bowl if FAU played in it.

It's kinda the same thing…

I like match-ups with both USF and FSU. However, I wish FSU had a better record than 6-6. I would really like to see FAU against a P5 team with at least 8 wins.

GO OWLS!!!

They are both "winable" but to me much less than a Duke. And FSU will play even better for the "interim" Coach.

Most teams do!

And to me, we don't want the NO Bowl as we would be playing "down" vs a Belt team - no win situation almost, right. To both USF and ESPECIALLY FSU, it would be the same to them playing us. Playing down in a no win situation. So why would they agree to play FAU????

Duke is ACC but are not so full of themselves as the "other" Florida schools and fan bases are!:Smug:

USF is potent and though winnable could be a challenge, if handled like the end of the Marshall game.  To play FSU would be good with exposure, in-state fans and recruits.  Who knows they can rally behind the interim coach and get a win and that hurts us.  The payout is good for the Indepence bowl but the matchup has to make sense. The Heart of Dallas bowl against Texas Tech seems winnable.  Overall we need the win in our quest to get ranked.

Brett Murphy is the one who said Troy vs North Texas.

He's also saying FAU vs Temple in Boca Raton Bowl.

I sure hope that's wrong. No interest in that.
