Just to end this….there is a 99% chance that not a single coach on the staff will be back next year. There's the accountability.
Its too emotional right now…its like a breakup. We will all look back in 3 years and remember all the good times, none of this will matter. I am just suprised more people dont know that.
I truly believe we took one step back to take 5 steps forward. With the stadium we have everything in place to become a big time program and the ability now to recruit a good head coach and south florida players.
For me I'm not sure "accountability" is the correct word for what needs to be done. I'll admit I was one of those posters asking for the immediate dismissal of the entire coaching staff after the back to back pick 6's on Saturday night. I'll also admit it was an emotional post and not well thought out. However, my problem is that nothing is being changed. Howard still thinks of Wilbert as our starting QB and no one understands why. Not making a QB change is very frustrating and we all know enough about college football to realize Wilbert isn't D-1 caliber QB. Change is good!
On another note, if this season continues on it's current path finding both quality coaching and recruits WILL be an issue.
Agree, I am not sure what the deal with the QB is either. I know its the main problem without question. There is no doubt in me that with JVC or Rusty this team is 2-3 and maybe 3-2 (depending on that Auburn game).
Here is how I see it and maybe I am crazy and dont know anything about football but…HS has had to take "chances" on QB's over the last 10 years. Basically develop a bunch of 2 star type kids that nobody else wanted. And that is not because we played in Lockhart or were a brand new program, it was because HS wears bad cologne.
Anyway, the odds that the "diamond in the rough" would be a diamond caught up to him this year. He rolled the dice too many times and crapped out. Why he stands by Wilbert I am not sure. I know that the general opinion of people close to the program say Kooi has an attitude problem.
And just to be clear if HS wasn't stepping down at the end of this year regardless, I do feel he would have to take accountablity for this and either replace the OC or step down.

This has been a theory of mine the last 2-3 weeks. I think it's pretty obvious that we should atleast try having Kooi start, but it seems like Howard just ignores him. It seems to me that Coach has an issue with Kooi and thats why he won't start him. It's just a thought, but I'm glad that someone else has a similar one.

Re: Bulldoze the Stadium and stone the coaches
If there was ever a game where the team should have been inspired to fight life over limb for victory , this was it. Stage fright?… maybe. But I was embarassed that some of the guests I brought to the game (to hopefully turn them on to FAU football) said they thought it looked like high school ball.
