I dont know about that blue raider…. as far as gaining reconition, FAU is the place to do that… under his advisory he will have added a football program, baseball stadium, new track & field facilities, basktball arena, wellness center, oxley center, and the largest domed football stadium on the east coast. And when FAU hits it big he will be the one given the reconition… If I were him I would stay put for now and maybe down the road go to BYU. If I were him I would stay, more potential here.

The Oxley Center & football programs where already in place when he joined FAU, but I will agree with you bighooter that the potential is far greater here if he stays. The football program is young and growing up and all the other programs (teams) will benefit as well.

You never know, BYU could offer him a nice package and with the religious organization being involved, it could be enough to pull him away.

Shoud be interesting how it all developes.

There is something to be said about building a program rather than jumping on the bandwagon of an established one. Will see what kind of man Angelos really is in the next few months.

Not many people will have a chance to build a program up and that is why he came here in the first place, to help the transition to a division 1-A status. There is still a lot of work to be done - How bad does he want to see this come full circle - he could then have any position he wanted. How does he see the program currently and the current direction it's going.

It may come down to this, how does he see this program relative to where its' going and how viable is
plan. There are a lot of uncertainties part of the equation here.

I hope Angelos stay and finish the job. But as blueraiderpride said, the LDS has a very strong member following. I don't know how devoted Angelos is to the church but I will not go as far and say it's a done deal for him to leave.

He apparently likes the challenge of building a program because he accepted the job in the first place.
FAU may very well be that program.

You have to understand members of the Church of the Latter Day Saints. They put their faith and God before anything else in their lives including whatever success is going on at another school.

What I'm saying is that if Angelos does leave FAU it won't be because he was leaving for a better job or a better opportunity, it would be because that is where he is being RELIGIOUSLY led.

Like I said, Mormons follow their own and take care of their own. They are very defensive of their faith as well. I think Angelos will go to BYU to be united with the place where his faith's foundation is located.

Religious Faith can have a very strong influence -
Has he even applied for the position yet? It's rather interesting how quiet this hole thing has been.

It has been very quiet in Owl land.

Religious convictions at BU: Remember Shaun Bradley when he left BU in basketball. The kid gave up millions to do volunteer work overseas! His game never recouped from that layoff.

Do we know for a fact that Angelos is a strong practicer of his religion. I mean, its one thing to belong to a church and its another thing to actually practice it and follow it tooth and nail...

I don't have a clue Boone02. Some of us may be assuming the wrong angle here.
