I think you'll find she might be upgrading her office soon. And we all know that every open position posted in the history of the world is never really filled internally beforehand, right?

Ha ha!

Good point……..

Although, with that said, I certainly hope you're right and that I (along with my sources) am wrong!

Nothing inside from me on this one, just "state of the union" responses…you may be on to something in the end if the application process follows suite.

The posting for the Assist. AD for Football Operations position is no longer up at jobs.fau.edu.

Re: Can anyone confirm these reports?

Hearing more whispers this morning that this hiring will be confirmed soon. Again, still holding out hope that it isn't true, but sure looking more and more likely that we'll have a former cheerleading coach as our Director of Football Ops.

Who makes the hiring decision for this position???  Pat Chun?

Teambeer is the most knowledgeable FAU sports fan I know, way smarter than me.

His former position, Assist. AD for Football Operations, is still open…she is doing what Jeff Brooks used to do, although Todd did touch parts of it at times.

They never had the position she holds before, so it is new.

Is she the Assisant TO the AD for Football Operations OR Assistant AD for Football Operation….hahahaha

Re: Can anyone confirm these reports?

Ghost, not sure if you have a dog in this fight or what but let me play devils advocate.

A director of football ops is in charge of booking travel, coordinating recruits visits (flights, hotels, food and chaperones) and probably some compliance stuff, like making sure transcripts are in, etc. At a school of our size (and knowing what assisant coach Tim Kaine makes) I'd guess this position pays about $45k per year.

I am fairly certain that experienced football operations folks aren't exactly lining up around the corner for this job at that pay. Heather proved herself in a lesser position during this past recruiting cycle and we have to hire an up n comer bc we can't afford anything else. So if she's the one, knowing the little bit I know, I don't think it's a bad hire.

But hopefully someone reviews your resume and calls you back ;) you at least deserve an interview.
