Can anyone confirm these reports?

Can anyone confirm these reports?

Sometimes when you come in to a new job (i.e. head coach, AD, etc), you just want your guy (or this case gal) in there. Just like a new head coach doesn't keep many holdovers from the previous staff, neither does a new AD…it's just how it is…

I completely understand a guy bringing in his people, but again, telling a long-term employee that you're letting him go to bring someone in to do recruiting as well, and then hiring the cheerleading coach is just not right.

Re: Can anyone confirm these reports?

No one likes to see anyone lose their job, especially someone who has been a familiar face (not that I had any clue this position even existed).  But the football program is a business, and whether or not we like it, sometimes unpopular decisions are made.  I think we have been kind of spoiled at FAU because most of us on the board have been around the program since it's start and got to know a lot of the players and staff over the years.  That doesn't happen at most schools, and I think that seeing familiar faces leave is kind of foreign to us.  I have no dog in this fight and really don't care too, it has nothing to do with our record.  I will say that I have no problem with Pelini gutting the place, it was time for a change in all areas of the program.

Re: Can anyone confirm these reports?

Heather was introduced today by Pelini as the Director of Football Operations. She will handle the everyday tasks of running the program (meals, travel, hotels etc.).

Pelini will now look to hire an on-campus recruiting coordinator to handle that aspect of the job.

Can't say I didn't tell you so.

I won't believe a word that comes out of Pelini's mouth from this point onwards. He's a lying sack of sh!t.

In fairness I assume they have a budget and they knew by hiring someone new and cheaper they would have enough money to hire someone to help with recruiting…It sucks, its business though

Ae you friends with Sean?  This is a business and I thought the point was to hire someone that could manage as well as recruit as well so it does seem strange but this seems like a bit of an over reaction.

Are we entirely sure he isn't Sean??

I mean, it sucks anytime someone loses a job and I'm sure these are all good people, but "bringing in your own people" is part of the profession and they know it.  There is no reason to bash the people there now.  It's not Pelini's fault that the program tanked.  It's now his job to fix it and part of that is bringing in his own staff.
