Cannon

Dont know.. but blowing off a few ounces of FFF powder during a punt, not cool.  It would be funny if they were fired from there volunteer job…lol

Re: Cannon

In order to hit the WKU bench the ball would've needed to go more than 10 yards…

My two favorite teams are FAU, and who ever is beating FIU!

Re: Cannon

I figured out why the cannon guys suck…. There not guys, it was 2 girls and a guy.   After our second touchdown they didn't fire the cannon until the extra point because one chick had to go run and get her camera to take a picture of her friend firing it.  I still don't know when they fire sometimes during random kickoffs, or after losses.  As the game was concluding the girl fired the cannon and the other one did a cartwheel….. REALLY???!!!  Take off the primer cap, pour water down the barrel, and pack it up…..

It was even mentioned on owl access from the first game..

Re: Cannon

Give them a break. It's a great tradition. They (like the offense) need practice.

The canon was certainly not considered when the stadium was designed. That northeast corner has little room, and forces the canon girls to redirect media and anyone else well into the corner near the tunnel and around the canon. Those who try to cut the corner of the field could be blasted, apparently.

The live owl guy asked them last night if they were planning to shoot it as he walked toward them. BTW, that owl is a major draw. The fans love it.

Re: Cannon

No break here…    3 oz FFF powder, 1 wad of 2 sheets of news paper, blasting cap, pull string, in that order.   during the team running out, touchdown, or field goal…   not during a punt, during a kickoff reception, not after a loss… its not that hard.  Lockhart had very little room too, but in the 7 years we have had it there have never been errors like this.  Its only a matter of time before we get a penalty for blasting that thing during a active play …..     I love that tradition, thats why I am being so critical of it.

Re: Cannon

In keeping with how the team has been playing this year, perhaps we should have a lookout tower for the cannon crew to knock over every time they fire it.....

Re: Cannon

I think it's bad if they do it on a kickoff and they should probably stop if they continue to do it. That could definetely be cause for a penalty.

Also, don't they do it after games just to get the charge out?
