Not sure what posting the coach's contract is going to accomplish.  Don't agree with posting it.  Wish the thread would get taken down.

It's public information, there is nothing legal or morally wrong posting it.

What does it accomplish though?  Doesn't change anything.  Frankly I think it's a fair deal

He's a state employee that's highly compensated to do a high profile public job, he knew what he was dealing with when he signed on the line. He needs to be held to a standard.  Are you ok with tax and student dollars being wasted on a shi*ty product with a historical record for negative returns?
Posted On: Sep 25th 2016, 9:13 PM #359861

That all depends what you want him to accomplish.  Would I like a winning record?  Sure.  Bowl eligible?  You bet.  Win the conference?  Yes again.    I believe coach will get there.  No, it isn't happening as fast as I would like, but let's be real.  Coach didn't come here to take over a successful program.  He was brought in to rebuild the program from a zero baseline.  Not an easy job.  Coach has put the program back together and is on the right track.

Sorry if the time table is not to your liking, but progression of events is not unreasonable.  That said, what good comes from putting his contract on line?  It changes nothing.  I don't begrudge the coach's salary.  Like any other job, he accepted an offer.  A fair one I might add.

Charlie took over a 6-6 team so I don't agree with your "zero baseline" statement. That statement fits Pelini better than Partridge.

Do you think Charlie has "earned" his salary? I understand your (our) opinion has no bearing but for argument sake what's your take? If he worked for me he'd be gone. Either you have "it" or you don't. Unfortunately for us hiring Charlie was a mistake. Granted his recruiting has been the best in schools history but it's not showing up on the field or in the stands. IMHO he hasn't earned his keep. What you say?

Go Owls!

I think we all can agree that Charlie has recruited much better than Carl.  The question is why isn't he getting the most out of these kids?

Are our schemes that complicated?  One only has to look south to see what competent coaching and simplified plans can do.  Compare Miami's defense this season compared to what they had under Golden and his DC.  Who cares about the competition they played, those coaches have those kids performing at an extremely high level.  Why hasn't Charlie and his staff, in all facets, been able to do the same?

Maybe Charlie is better suited to be a position coach and a lead recruiter and not a CEO.  Is he super hands-on or is he allowing his coordinators to run the show and he supervises?  What specifically is holding him back?  He had the support of the fans and local community.  He had a pedigree.  He had a story to sell.  So what internally is holding him back from turning the corner?

How are the kids responding to him and his coaching staff?  Are they learning?  Do they respect them?

I know some of you are closely connected with players and particular coaches, it's time to work those relationships, keep their comments off the record, and give some info to just WTF is happening inside that locker room.

First, the forum fairies made this it's own thread, I posted in response to another member stating we have no idea what his contract reads, which isn't true, it's there for the world to see because he is a state employee.

Second, the contract and details were in the newspaper the day after he signed it. Don't act like I posted pictures of his kids, this isn't private information.

Florida has these great laws called Sunshine Laws!  If you want privacy don't take a government job.  They are similar to federal freedom of information acts the federal government have that some presidential candidates don't believe apply to them therefore they delete email!!

No disrespect, but I completely disagree. Yes, there was the mess that Pelini left. But even in the crappy year that Pelini was fired, we were 6-6. CP wasn't brought in to rebuild, he was brought in to clean up a mess, and take the program to the next level. We were already bowl eligible before he got here, in a really turbulent season. The stability we have now should be conducive to more wins, not fewer wins. These blown leads have been going on ever since CP took over. That's a coaching problem. My understanding was that he was brought in due to his great recruiting and relationships with the local high schools. But he's sort of become a Les Miles guy - lots of talent, but can't coach them to win. We should have beaten Ball State, we should have blown SIU out, not allow 30 points. We should have put more points on the board against KSU. We can't close games, and we've only regressed. Yes, the O-line has injuries, but you can't throw out a season based on O-line injuries. Three years in and he's still talking about seeing some flashes and glimpses of where we should be.

Interesting that you mention the 6-6 year. As best I recall, we stood at 2-6 when Pelini left. Only a masterful (and improbable) coaching job by interim head coach Brian Wright and an heroic effort by dedicated players took the Owls to four straight wins and a 6-6 finish. Sadly, the bowl-eligible Owls were snubbed by the selectors. Anyway, if anyone cleaned up a mess, it was Brian Wright….

Agree 100%. I was actually hoping Wright would get the job at that point. So I retract that CP had to clean up - BW cleaned up the end of the season.

One might even say Brian wright may well be vindicated if he does as well as he looks like hes doing with Toledo.

Yeah Toledo looks good. They've scored 128 points compared to our 80 points, and are 3-0 in the MAC.
