Post

By the way - who has more credibility and integrity?? The anonymous poster or the person who goes public and signs an affidavit?

I heard this too, but there is a difference….Having an affair (if that is even true) is sinful but not illegal…smoking pot and snorting coke, on the other hand, is both….

…and one is backed by 2 affidavits and two resignations…the other is just rumor…

Pat Chun is a pretty smart guy.  Do you think he went into this blindly without proof?  Or without looking into the 2 who came forward and what their motivation might have been….If you were innocent and accused wouldn't you prove it?  Pelini and Rekstis were given the opportunity to  TAKE A DRUG TEST.  They both refused, ADMITTED it, and RESIGNED on the spot.  One thing has nothing to do with the other.  It's not slander if the person admits and resigns.  If Rekstis and Pelini were innocent, they were given the opportunity to prove it.  Edwards could not get fired for an affair.  Thats not in the rule book.  Pelini's contract says no illegal drugs.  period.  An affair does not affect the kids or the staff. However, doing cocaine and marjuana affects everyone.  It affects their mindset and ability to do their jobs.  I don't care if Coach Edwards wears a skirt when he's at home.  That doesn't affect our program.  No one is talking about the fact that Edwards job was threatened if anyone found out about the drug rumor.  No one is talking about the fact that former Coach Rekstis went to FAU on Friday and confirmed to the AD that Pelini was doing drugs.  I don't know the kind of guy that Edwards is, but hopefully the affair isn't true.  It doesn't matter if Pat Chun got a confession from both Pelini and Rekstis.

the anonymous poster who started this thread says 2 lying individuals attempting to save their jobs….Allison Stewart doesn't work for FAU.  No one was firing her for anything.  Matt Edwards was not getting fired for an affair.  They didn't make up a story, the 2 head coaches admitted to illegal drug use.  snorting cocaine.  Illegal.

Snorting or wiping it in your gums what ever.

Several press releases indicate that Chun consulted council on the issue. This was not a hasty decision or an emotional reaction. Chun appears to be a professional and I am sure to do the CYA thing, he did everything by the book.
