Let's use S. Florida and the Stadium and the Campus to draw kid's from ACROSS the country to play "football in paradise". Either we beleive that slogan and use it or we don't!
And no B.S. that is costs more to give a scholorship to a kid from out of state. True we don't bring in as much cash for that "out-of-state" tuition "bump" but the actual cost of the education and room and board is the same as for any kid living on campus from even Boca!
NO MORE EXCUSES or REASONS we can't bring in better players AND students - those days HAD BETTER BE PAST!

If you would like Coach Pelini to recruit nationally then donate a pilot, private plane, hotel fares and food expenses. Until then, we will have to take Alabama's seconds. Just how it is, need to be realistic.
Recruiting is one thing, but I want to see these new guys COACH! Pelini turned Nebraska's defense from 4th worst in the country to top 10 IN ONE YEAR!!! What? They have an influx of 5-star guys? Or did he actually teach and develop his players. Did Greg Mattison at Michigan (new D-Coordinator) take Michigan from one of the worst in the country to top 10 by getting new and better players??? No, he did so with the SAME players that were terrible the year before.
Guys this can be turned around quick…with the players on our roster. Did Arkansas State get a huge influx of talent this year???? Or did they get TAUGHT and COACHED how to play football and win?

And I know the admissions brochures list different tuitions for in-state and out-of-state students but having Coached 38 players (my own family included) whom went on to play Collegiate ball at all levels (D1, DII, NAIA), there are LOTS of ways around financial issues (grants, other scholorships, etc.) to totally "defray" the cost of attending even the most expensive of private colleges. And these options INCLUDED reducing tuition and housing costs!
Bottom line we HAVE TO stop making excuses for poor recruiting or for not recruiting more regionally if not nationally and JUST GET IT DONE - unless we like last place and 5,000 in the stadium!

Agreed, I was recruited to play football up north at a d2 school, and decided against it cause of the weather…..if a team 5 minutes from the beach in South Florida would have offered me the same offer I would have been there in a heartbeat!
