The story behind FAU RB coach Roger Harriott's "cancelled" in-home visit Monday. (VIP) Florida Gators search for assistant coaches on hold?

Honestly if he goes I cant blame the guy. It will suck for FAU but to be able to go from HS coach to a historically strong p5 school in 2 years would be incredible.

I have come here to chew bubble gum and kick @$$ and I'm out of bubble gum.

I posted this previously with respect to recruiting and I have zero knowledge if the following is at play, but I suspect a small dose of it is.

Many recruits are delivered to schools by people in the community that have long standing relationships with schools, boosters, handlers and/or street agents in South Florida.  Some times it comes down to a couple, three schools or just one.  There are patterns associated with people in the communities down here, you just need to pay attention to see them.

That being said, Harriott appears to be extremely well connected to the schools, the handlers and the recruits and could be a welcome addition to any P5 staff.  Now, maybe he will be a coach at UF and maybe he will be a "coach" at UF, that remains to be seen.  Alabama has redefined the definition of a coach and football support staff and to keep up, you're going to have to spend money to match their resources from a "staff" perspective.

Harriott could certainly fill either spot on the "staff."

Missed that one.
I still think he is as good as gone.
We will see what Charlie is made of Recruiting wise if we lose him.

I don't know how you live with such intense pessimism. How can you be that negative at all times?

Becuase I live in the real world sorry I'm not like everyone one else and drink the #wintoday coolaid I have followed college football my whole life and 99 percent of the time a coach will go to the destination that best fits him. So if the Gators offer he is gone I'm not going to belive that he will make less money and not go to an SEC school because "he believes in what we are building".
I'm only positive based of results and all I have is 3-9 and a bunch of 18 year olds and their words.

Results: 3-9.  He's part of the problem.  Glad to see him go then.

Idk how good of a coach he is loesing him though would be bad college recuriting is a dirty game with handlers and others from the outside who effect it.
Roger is a great recuriter and that's why he is here lies if him would hurt.
