Coach's Senioritis?

Coach's Senioritis?

Anyone else think that Howard has already "checked out" from coaching?

He may not be the one calling the plays, but it doesn't seem like he's concerned with us losing or not getting better.

It's as if it's his last semester of college and senioritis has set in for him. Don't work hard, don't care, just do enough to finish the term.

I truly appreciate all that Howard has done for the school and the team. But right now, we're not seeing classic Schnellenberger. And I don't care for what I see right now from him.

If there aren't some changes on the depth chart for the home opener, especially at QB, then I and rest of us will know, that senioritis has truly set in for our Coach.

10 years ago, he never coached the team.

Re: Coach's Senioritis?

I would agree that it seems he has definetly "checked out".  I know he doesen't really make the calls, but he is the spokesman for the team and it seems his comments after the games this season defy logic.  Look at his comments after the UNT game where he still says that Wilbert is our starter until Kooi shows that he is better (paraphrasing).  From what I've read Wilbert spent the first 3/4's of the game giving UNT points with out any progress on our team.  Kooi came in at the end and atleast moved the ball, and he didn't give it away.  He really does come off as a lost old man in the interviews though.
