I have been saying it for years on the board that to many fans here just accept being mediocre. They buy all the bull coach speak from Howard to Charlie always talk about rebuilding the futrue. This roster lacks depth. This could go all the way back to Howard's last class anyone who is a senior or RS JR was in that class. How many of the them contribute maybe 5 and many of you still defended the dimond in the rough recruiting.
I was on this board telling you guys how bad I wanted Pelini gone and I was "crazy"
When Charlie got here Pelini and his staff had twice had many offensive players on scholarship as defensive and we wonder why we have 1 D-1 linebacker on this team.
Charlie is a likable guy and
does well recruiting local kids (we'll see Feb 4th who's left)
But it's becoming apparent that he struggling to coach on Saturdays.
So when we are 1-4 to start 2015 and I'm calling for his head don't get mad.
Then again most of people who do not post much anymore.

Teams are expected to have a losing season once in a while – not a losing season every year for six straight years (sorry, but 6-6 is a losing season to those who rarely lose games). It's awesome that you all continue to endure the bad times. I used to have to endure them too, but now I have the option of enjoying success, and I can assure you it feels great! No longer do I have to sit in a half empty stadium; no longer do I have view a 6-6 record as progress; and no longer do I have to witness getting blown out by a 2-6 North Texas squad.

I truly want things turn around for FAU, but fortunately, my November won't be spent hoping that my team finishes strong to go 5-7. Rather, it will be spent wondering which bowl game my other alma mater will be heading to THIS year.

P.S. Thank you to those who gave me the right to be a fairweather fan.

What's your other alma mater?

It is one thing to be a fair weather fan and something else to come on the board and down your school with a sarcastic "Congratulations" post. It is in bad taste. That said, I choose to remain blindly optimistic that this thing will turn around.

To put it in perspective, remember when USF was a top 10 team? They have fallen from grace and are now pretty pathetic themselves. It happens and it is extremely difficult for second tier programs like FAU, USF, etc. to maintain a winning tradition.

You were blindly optimistic about Howard being a good recruiter and Carl being a good coach maybe one day you will how crappy we really are.

I'm not expecting a national championship or anything from FAU I would just like to see them in bowl games most years. That's all. If we can be the solid mid major program that ECU, UCF or Marshall is, I'll be happy. But it's been 6 long years since the last bowl game. I just pray to God that by 2016-2017 we're rollin again. In all honesty, I think this team is gonna be pretty bad next year. Unless Quez somehow becomes the QB that we saw against WKU and Tulsa week in and week out, we're doomed. Quez is so inconsistent. The defense will probably be the worst in program history as we lose most of our leaders on that side of the ball. I say we finish 4-8 this year and go 3-9 next year. We'll probably all be calling for Partridge's head at that point.

stop with the 2016-2017 stuff this team needs to go bowling next year. To many mid-majors turn it around real quick.
If we do no go bowling in 2015 fire Charlie should be in full force!!!!!

OC40…We have to give Charlie two more years before we judge his abilities. I agree that as of right now we are a poor team . Charlie got what was given to him. He needs time to make this his team. I don't question his ability as a head coach but I do question  whether or not we have the correct coordinators in place.  We have been a team that has had more changes in a three year period than most teams have in ten. PS, just got my season ticket request for next year in the mail today. I think I may want to negotiate with the ticket office.

I actually was never a huge fan of Carl and in the case of Schnelly, I felt like he deserved to go out on his own terms. I am hopeful that this team will improve, but depth is a huge issue as well as overall talent. Having a couple of quality JUCO transfers can't make up for an overall lack of talent. Charlie deserves two more years to see what he can do.

But a poor team that SHOULD be 5-4. The blown games being the losses to Wyoming (worst fold EVER by FAU - with the win in our hands yet!) and UAB (with ALL THE MOMENTUM IN THE WORLD - AT HOME - going for us!). And don't give me that the D was blown because the O scored 3 4th qtr. TD's and the D WAS NOT on the field that much! We went BACK to the D alignment that allowed the big lead and gave the game right back to them!

I do want Coach P to be allowed the spend what is needed to hire good AGGRESIVE Co-ordinators, not the passive confused stuff we see this year. This team (O and D) is VERY inconsistant and confused at many times because their leadership is - and WAY to passive on both sides of the ball to my liking and thinking!

I think OC40 makes some good points.

I think his radicalism is a bit extreme  sometimes, but we are in a better situation than most mid-majors due to the talent we are exposed to.

PJ Fleck is the HC of Western Michigan and his Mustang team went 1-11 under his leadership last year they are bowl eligible as of last week.
So yeah do I think Charlie needs more than 11 months.

But I dont want a guy who cant coach but can talk his way out of most situations with administration and different boards. Bad coaching is bad coaching and if you dont stomp it out it will plague you at any level i.e. Miami, Texas.

If we dont go bowling next season with a hunt for the C-USA title I am with OC40. Charlie can crawl back to the trenches of the B1G and recruit three good South Florida players, and move on to a new guy.

We dont have the luxury of a large program that can hire the "wrong" guy and waste away 4 years on him.

I love dropkicks and fat guy touchdowns.
