Delta will stop at their hub in ATL...they always do. Airtran would probably do the same actually

Just a suggestion if it turns out to be cheaper… Try flying into Ontario, Canada (Don't forget you need a passport now) and then renting a car and driving to Detroit. CanadianOwl would know or anyone familiar with that drive but I don't believe it's to long.

Flights from Lauderdale into Windsor aren't cheap. You're probably better off staying with domestic flights.

Cheapest Returning

Spirit - Detroit to Fort Lauderdale - $249, 1 stop in Orlando.  Leaving 27 DEC - depart 620PM arrive 1035PM

American Airlines - Detroit to Miami - $181, direct. Leaving 29 DEC - depart 250PM  arrive 555PM (requires staying til monday)

Northwest has leave Wed, come back Monday for $288 from Miami non-stop….other decent deals too.

Hello from a CMU fan.  I live a couple hours away from Detroit in Kalamazoo and a new airline has just started flying in from Florida, I don't know if this will help any of you or not but you might give it a look.

Direct air to Kalamazoo, and a rental car.  Also check out the airport in Flint and Lansing, I think they have some direct to Florida flights.
