Kukurt, getting people or fans fired up is expected and thats cool and likely is not taken personal. But when a Dumn%$# runs his mouth just to hear him or herself talk they IMO should start looking to the Enquirer for a job. Personally I like the chest pounding debates before games, thats what gets the fans cranked up, as they should. I have a hard time with these other idiots, but they are everywhere so the best thing is to try to ignore them

True enough, Talon. My personal take: KU is leaps and bounds better than they were when Mangino took over in 2002. We've gotten better, but no where near to where we can disrespect ANY opponent. Anything can happen on a given day. Mangino will have the fellas focused on FAU.

I used to live in Kansas, and I know Lawrence is a pretty and traditional Midwestern college town. I also know the state has a lot of very nice and decent people. I also know, however, that there are only two key things for a lazy sports writer to do there: (1) write error-ridden and shallow columns and (2) watch the wheat grow. This guy should have stuck to the wheat. Instead, he filled his column space with the chaff (definition 3, Webster's Unabridged Dictionary).

IMO The Island Boys were very confident that they were going to rip the tailfeathers out of the Owls. This backfired for them, and motivatived the are guys and they went in with a "Win or loose we came to play" attitude. According to the press, there coach did'nt take FAU lightly.

I agree Mangino won't take this game lightly and he absolutley will not let the players do that either. That is why this should be a very good game.

I wouldn't think twice about what that writer said - college football fans, and knowledgable sports fans in general, know about FAU's football program. So, who cares what he says. No offense at all to KU, but I'm more excited to be in Boca and FAU than I would be in Lawrence, Kansas.

The last few years the support has been great for us, it's how quick they tend to blast you with any negatives stuff and this happens with any University. However it doesn't help when we are trying to build a fan base with some negative remarks that have very little or no backing behind them. Take the good with the bad, it actually ridiculous how many negative type of stories out numbers the good ones.
