We all know that lack of discipline on both sides of the ball has been an issue for us in years past. I have to be honest that I am a bit concerned about how disciplined we are going to be this year. I've read articles and seen some videos showing borderline all-out brawls on the field. Coaches write it off as being aggressive and firey, and I totally get that-to an extent. I kind of feel that our players were going beyond being aggressive and "hyped up" due to putting pads on for the first day. You play how you practice. If coaches allow the players to get away with that type of stuff in practice then there is no stopping it during a game because that is what they are used to.

I hope it was just some over excitement and that our coaches really focus on discipline this year.

Great point fasho!  I agree that discipline was the reason we lost many games over the last couple of years.  Our best year was 2007, when our +/- was at the absolute best.  We made very few mistakes in 2007.  Time to pull out the films and show the guys what discipline looks like.
