Duron Carter no longer an FAU Owl

Duron Carter no longer an FAU Owl

Looks like Coach Carl Pelini has told multiple media outlets that Carter's career as an Owl has ended before it began due to academic issues. Carter worked with the scout team most of the season but never saw the field due to the NCAA rejecting his eligibility waiver. Carter intends to enter this April's NFL draft.

He'll be lucky if he gets drafted in the late rounds.

The only way I see that happening is if Cris Carter really gets involved with some of his contacts around the league to get this kid a work out. The only statistics these scouts can go by are his freshman year at Ohio State where he rarely saw the field and that 1 year he had at as a JUCO. Never saw the fiels at 'Bama or at FAU.

Good Luck in the draft. I don't think he's done enough on the field in his 2 years to show he's worth drafting. However, because of his last name and his father someone may take a flier on him.

Hope it works out for him but I don't agree with his decision. I believe you should always have a degree or some sort of education to fall back on. I'm sure he's not a dumb kid, he just doesn't care about school and doesn't try to get good grades. He only tries on the field where he thinks it matters the most

My two favorite teams are FAU, and who ever is beating FIU!

Re: Duron Carter no longer an FAU Owl

I had a friend in high school who was a Jehovah's Witness and as you may know, JWs don't celebrate birthdays. I guess they don't really attend birthdays either? Anyway, I asked her if she felt like she was missing out on the opportunity and she said, "honestly, I don't. Can't really miss what you never had."

And that's how I feel about Duron Carter at this point.

+1 That was flippin' good!

And while I understand he would have been a great addition to the team *& our receiving corps, he likely would have done more harm than good (i.e. Demarcus Cousins: good player, but does not get along)

Also, our receiving corps is pretty good anywho with the likes of Dukes, McKinney, Whitehead (hopefully), Stoshak, Glinton, Dorvilus, & possibly even more.

Our receiving corps will be fine.

Only question is: If he does make an NFL team, and he does end up starting, what university does he say on SNF?

Really not that big of a loss. We clearly are not lacking in the WR department

"There is nothing sadder than wasted talent" - Sonny.

A loser is a guy who could have made something of himself but didn't. A loser is a guy with wasted talent. Don't be that loser.

Teambeer is the most knowledgeable FAU sports fan I know, way smarter than me.

This is actually good news.  The kid has a bad track record wherever he has been (including FAU now).  A 3 time loser riding his father's coattails.  At best he ends up with a gig in arena football.
