Duron carter transfer??

Re: Duron carter transfer??

Duron carter transfer??

Ohio State is a member of the AAU. It's pretty easy to get into the school (if you're an athlete) but once you're in, the grades are a different story. Alabama, I imagine, is a bit easier, but I also suppose there was a snowball effect.

Something has to be said for the way athletes are treated at major college programs. Duron Carter will just be another guy in Boca— there won't be special treatment (at least not to a tenth of the degree he ever saw at his previous NCAA stops) at FAU. I don't want to infer how he will respond to the different situation, but it certainly is a different situation.

I don't think he can get in with the NCAA sliding scale.  Kid was a ghost in the classroom.  Just because daddy is down the street doesn't mean he'll go to class.  Hell, there is a TON more to do in Boca Raton on a Monday night than there is in Columbus, OH.

Coach Pelini dont play that game. He stress classroom attendance and discipline just as he stress that on the football field. I'm pretty sure if Duron Carter gets in, daddy and Coach P will be keeping a very close eye on him.

Daddy couldn't keep him in school at a school he's a living legend at and you think he can do something here?  SMH.

Re: Duron carter transfer??

Lets face it, Alabama, and Ohio St, two schools that the pressures of the nation looking down at you, but at FAU, not so much the pressure, or the campus size of those schools. Probably someone will be with him to help him. This assuming he gets in

Sometimes you can grow up a lot in one year at that age.  Hopefully what I percieve as embarrasing actions has humbled him and being at a small school in a place he is comfortbale with less expectation will help him.

I know that I would have not suceeded at a place like Ohio State or Alabama…never would have graduated and had 3 or 4 STD's.  Going to FAU was perfect for me due to the size of the school.

I think there is a chance he comes around and grows up….but think there is probably more of a chance that SigEp77 is correct and he will be smoking pot and eating cheetos 5 years from now asking his dad for allowance and to borrow the mercedes.

I will be embarassed as an alum if this kid gets into FAU….Ohio State and Alabama are not really known for high academic standards.

Ohio St. is a member of the Big10 and the requisite academic association (DON'T REMEMBER THE NAME - SORRY) that requires. Sorry, but WAY ahead of my FAU!

While I think Bama and that school in Ohio are both at least on par with FAU, that school in Ohio has the worst academics in the Big 10.

Re: Duron carter transfer??

So I am a student at FAU and am friends with a few guys on the team and have a few tidbits of inside info for you old guys. As far as Duron, one of my fraternity brothers played football with him at St. Thomas and said that he is skilled but is LAZY(I figure you all knew it but its coming from a former team mate). I also talked to my friend who plays for FAU and from he told me, Terrel Mitchell the TE we had high hopes for is a bust and is always too injured to participate in practice and has put on weight because he isn't doing anything. He also said that he thought Shalom Ogbonda was a bust as well. Even though he's a 3 star, he did not think he was up to par with Florida talent and is not very physical. He also gave me some insight as far as depth at a few positions. Starters at WR as it stands will be Richardson, Dukes, and Ishmar in the 3 WR set. He also mentioned that Matt chaney will start at DT and Robinson Eugene will start at DE opposite Cory Henry. Thats all I can remember that he mentioned to me(alot of this came up because we were playing NCAA football 2013 and he was commenting on who would or should be playing at certain positions)

Duron Carters grades are worse than yours were in your semester of epic greatness Mr. Blutarsky.

Where is Ogbonda from?
