awful example walty, flacco went to pitt, had some problems and left. samething as sam bomar.
Rhett Bomar ;)
The example fits perfect. Joseph went to Boston College and transferred to FAU just like Flacco went to Pitt and transferred to Delaware. Sorry, but I am siding with Walty on this one.

Also, lets see where Rusty gets drafted. While scouts had issues with Franz, I believe that scouts think that Rusty can be the real deal. If Franz becomes a starter and rusty goes undrafted, then I will buy the argument that FAU hurts your draft status.
After what just happened, I would not be surprised to see Rusty go as a priority FA like Frantz. Rusty's numbers for the Junior section of Pro Day weren't blowing away the scouts either, right? He'll need to improve on that performance if possible.
I mean, just to be realistic and temper the enthusiasm a bit: Rusty is certainly the best QB we've ever had so we think he's definitely pro material but there are talented guys from bigger programs (like Tim Tebow) ahead of him.

But I think Rusty is in a great place whereby he is running a Pro-style offense. I mean, we are the 1972 Dolphins, but with a lot less talent.
How many Heisman trophy QBs have not been able to make it in the NFL? A lot. Rusty has some tools. He has the size of an NFL QB, and he has the ability to deliver the ball quickly and accurately. He delivers very quickly. He does not get sacked much and it's not because of his blazing speed and our #1 ranked offensive line. I like his chances at the next level but would add I think he needs to do something exceptional this year. He needs to put this team on his back and do something special. Beating a team we have no business beating would help him a great deal.
For Frantz, I think they have to look at the speed and jumping ability, etc., the things he did not test so well. I believe he has the talent to make it, but it will be tough. Just because he had the 2nd most tackles doesn't mean as much for me. Sure it's great, but we had a very weak defense. He got very little help so he is going to have lots of tackles. A linebacker on a BCS team that has better talent around him may have less tackles because he has more help but still may be more talented than Frantz.
But talent is talent and speed and jumping ability is speed and jumping ability. If you have the talent and go to FAU, the NFL will find you. Going to BC or FAU doesn't change Frantz's ability, but it may make his stats look better going to FAU for the reasons stated.

One could also argue that a LB on a BCS team could make more tackles because he has a good defensive line that keeps the OL off of him and allows him to make plays. If that is the case then what Frantz did is even that much more special. Playing behind a not so good DL and still making a ton of tackles.

Where do you see Tebow playing??
TE??
There is a lot of talk of him playing TE or H-Back, but I think he will get at playing QB. He has gotten better at QB each year and I think a team will look at his leadership ability and the fact that he is a winner. He may never be a starter in the NFL, but he might make a solid career as a backup who has the confidence to come in and lead a team.

I'm certainly not a football expert or a Gator fan by any means (even though I have a large contingent of friends who attend UF) but I look at the early success of guys like Matt Ryan and think Tebow could match that. I imagine whoever drafts him will try to get him in the game as QB as soon as possible.
Rusty strikes me as more of a Tom Brady, getting drafted low and working his way up to starter.
