Both MTSU and FAU have suffered major losses. That is what will make this game interesting. We will see who responds to adversity.

As for the RB position, FAU is deep this year. Of course, it all depends on the play of the OL.

The FAU defense will be solid front to back. The defense played well most of last year and I don't anticipate a change.

At QB FAU has a clear advantage over MTSU. Rusty Smith has been in the system a while and he is comfortable. He has a big arm and he is mentally tough.

I think it will be close, but I will go out on a limb and predict FAU 27-21 over MTSU.

GO OWLS!!!

That's a reasonable assesment except the part about your defense. That's history at this point, but I think your linemen are undersized. You guys beat the weaker teams in the conference with one good win over ASU last year. it may be nothing, but I think with our defense, your o line is too small as well, but your prediciton should be close. I'll say: Reverse the score MT by 6 points.

Our defense is small and so is the O-line. The defense is also very fast and they swarm to the ball. Last year might be history, but we return almost all of our starters. So we can expect improvement from last year.

As for the O-line, they are small by design. The coaching staff wants smaller, more athletic lineman. I agree that it has been a concern in the past, but this year FAU has far more experience than the past few years and the line is bigger than last years roster indicates. Their are a couple of 300 pounders and a number of other guys over 280lbs. It isn't like the line averages 260lbs.

GO OWLS!!!

Well, I'll be watching the game in Nashville on my friends FIFTY INCH PLASMA! So I should get a good look at the game. It will be interesting to see if our prognostications were accurate.

You might not want to see the outcome on a 50 inch high def screen.

No doubt that Troy and MT are the teams to beat right now. You guys seem to have the ability to beat the lesser teams in the Sunbelt (well, you did beat us with our old coach that couldn't coach very well). Your best win last year in conference was ASU and you really hammered them so it shows you guys have some talent, even if it was a home game. From what I've seen you lines are small, but that may not mean anything on the filed. It's too hard to tell. I suspect that you guys will be a middle of the pack team in conference with UNT adding coach Dodge and will MT and Troy already solidified. I think it will take about 3 more years before you challenge for the title and with WKU up and running by then, it will be even harder. Being in Florida is nice for recruiting, so maybe it won't take as long as I think, but I just don't see you guys coming in higher than thrid this year. Good luck and if you do win it all, I'll come back and retract my statement.

Lucky for you, you do not make picks for a living. I think you are in La La Land on your assessment of MT. You guys are not near as good as you think you are and we are going to show you that on Sept. 1st.

The only reason MT beat us last year is because we were playing with a Freshman & Sophomore team. As for where we will be ranked in the Sunbelt….DEFINATELY # 1 and then we will be moving forward into the Big East and leave you MT chumps in our dust.

ill second this in its entirety…

BlueRaiderFan…go be a cheerleader on your own blog and leave this one to us, how about it?

otherwise put up some objective commentary…everyone who's anyone knows you guys took a hit from last years squad, and then added a rediculous amount of injuries on top of that…

do you honestly think you are one of the SBC teams to beat???
