Who is Eddie Gran and has ever been the Head Coach at the FBS college level?
I didnt even have to say it! Thanks GeorgiaOwl. Eddie Gran is responsible for recruiting some good running backs at Tenn, FSU and Ole Miss. "If he produces the same success in the offensive backfield that he has for the past decade, Vols fans are in for a treat. Seven NFL running backs tutored under Gran at some point in their careers, among them Carnell Williams, Ronnie Brown, Rudi Johnson and Deuce McAllister. Williams was an All-America at Auburn and earned 2005 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year, while Brown and McAllister were NFL first-round picks and Johnson earned 2000 SEC Player of the Year."
Apparently he has been recruiting SoFla for years.

Since you asked….he's the associate HC under Jimbo right now, which is a grooming position, but it's his first year. Obviously he wants to get into the big time game…why is he a good candidate?
He was at UM in the 90s and recruited this area…actually how he knows Jimbo is from being "the guy" to recruit south florida for his other schools…
Tommy Tuberville loves him he was running backs coach at Ole Miss and Auburn and is responsible for a bunch of NFL Running backs, he was at these two SEC schools for 14 years, recruiting OUR market and coaching RBs.
The job today at FSU is to prepare him for a HC job, so he's not a "big splash" hire, but would be a very good recruiter down here and someone we could afford.
Here's a line from his bio: Beyond the playing field, Gran has established himself as one of the nation's top recruiters. He has spent the better part of two decades recruiting Miami and greater South Florida as his primary territory, where he first crossed paths with Jimbo Fisher. The fertile ground will remain his primary recruiting area with the Seminoles.

Pass. Sorry, but if you haven't at least been a coordinator, I'm not interested.

With 20 years of coaching and this….

I think its worth giving him a shot.

Frankly it doesnt look like Angelos is wanted here much longer and that isnt so attractive to his buddy Mike Leach.
I thought Leach only knew Angelos because the two went to the same undergrad, making them acquaintances at best? I'm not sold on the idea that Angelos has to be here for Leach to be here.

So let me get this straight. Angelos has already visited with several candidates for the HC job, Is scheduled to speak with several more to meet their December 5th deadline for hiring a new coach - Then Angelos is getting axed?
