FAU Band?

FAU Band?

:D

I'll be there in person myself. I want to be there when Middle Tennessee blows Florida Atlantic away like we should have done the past two years. I just hate it when we play games where we don't try to win.

Hopefully our very experienced veterans such as QB Clint Marks and WR Chris Henry leading the Sun Belt's most powerful offense will light up the inexperienced defense of FAU that will return probably no starters in the defensive line, secondary, or anywhere else on the team!

To be honest, and don't take this the wrong way, judging from what we return and what we have recruited and what ya'll have returned and what ya'll have recruited and given the fact that if Division II Valdosta State and Sun Belt member Louisiana-Monroe (an SBC team MTSU has never lost to in conference play) can win at Lockhart in Fort Lauderdale, Middle Tennessee should beat FAU by no less than three or four touchdowns, but that's if Crissinger-Hill is still suspended as the newspapers have perceived him to be.

But we can understand if Schnellenberger gets so desperate to win, he'd have to turn to "marajuana man" to at least add some kind of spark to an offense that will be missing everybody in 2005.

If it weren't for him, Bynes, and Allen, FAU would've lost both of their previous games to MTSU. Those three was all FAU had that was worth anything. And two of the three are definitely gone. The third (Crissinger-Hill) MIGHT still not play, but we know Howard Schnellenberger and how desperate he can get now that a conference title is on the line instead of just a few games in a lame-duck season like last year.

See ya'll in Fort Lauderdale!

FAU Band?

Boone02 - You may have missed an earlier post, but from the people I have talked to, I get a very strong indication that we will have a band this year - they know that it is important part of the home field advantage - unleast something drastic happen, I forsee us having a band.

I hope we do. Do you know who's directing the marching band? Who's teaching drill? Writing it? any info?

FAU Band?

Yeah,

I wanna know if something is in writing or if it is all speculation. If we are getting one shouldn't they be, like, organizing it now???

I hated the fact that FIU had one at the Shula bowl and we did not!! :(

We have to at least borrow a high school one again especially with the bigger games we have.

Who at FAU do you think can give us a definitive answer?

Boone02, Bytor is probably giving as definitive answer as you may get about the band. But there might be someone in the Athletic office with some additional answers. I suggest you call the office and see if they have anything.

1-866-FAU-OWLS or 1-561-297-1042

Let us know what you find out.

Thanks

FAU Band?

I wish I had more concrete info ??? but it has been discussed and the head of the music department has been involved in the process - A call there may not be a bad idea if you want more dirt.

FAU Band?

I wish FAU would make up its mind regarding a band.

I have a daughter who is considering FAU among many colleges. A band program might sway her to stay "home".

Also, FAU ought to start an equestrian (hunter-jumper) team. This is an official NCAA sport now, but unfortunately no Florida college offers a varsity team (not even UF).

With all the equestrian (horse flesh, money, facilities) support available in Palm Beach County, it could be a quick winner. My daughter has scholarship offers to far-away schools, but would stay here if the sport was offered.

They have got to get the band together this year and I really think it is going to happen. Even The Prez said something as he was naming programs that tie to football.

You have an excellent idea about the equestrian program. Big Money ties. there are programs in the west that have Rodeo in there programs. So why not.

You're correct regarding equestrian programs. Many Western schools have such, with sanctioned rodeo programs. The Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) is involved in this. With the horse money in the Palm Beaches (as well as the Ocala area), this might be an excellent idea.

FAU Band?

I had heard a rumor that equestrian might happen at FAU. If anyone has the scoop, please let me know.

I know of some people and organizations (such as the Wellington Equestrian Alliance and Palm Beach County Horse Industry County) that might be able to help with horses, facilities, etc.

An equestrian program would be good for FAU's Title 9 situation, as most competitors are women.

Riding could be done at many places, from the show sites west of Delray to Wellington.
