Ran the 48th ranked D in 2011…. Not bad.

We were ranked 71st last year…

The guy has put some dbs in the nfl, and his teams average a lot of interceptions. With the secondary talent hes inheriting he'll be able to show off down here! I like the hire!

With the offensive production we had that is flat out amazing. 

By my counting (not including the new FCS programs moving up whiich the yahoo sports rankings do);

Miami (OH) NCAA FBS Defensive rankings;
40th in points allowed per game
73rd in rushing yards allowed per game
24th in passing yards allowed per game

This on a team that had their "miracle" season a year before and of course lost lots of that talent.
We would love any of those numbers I listed above!

For what it's worth, the Miami(OH) mesdsage board says he's taking the FAU job….and they all speak highly of him. 

We shall see, maybe they get to sign and make the announcement tomorrow. Coach P. said he wanted the job filled by the weekend!

I fully believe everything happens for a reason, maybe this was meant to happen this way. For all we know, Rekstis could turn out to be the better candidate at DC. Maybe his methods are easier for the D to comprehend, who knows. Just think this is a great hire and I haven't been this excited for football in a long time
