FAU: FIU's nightmare

I agree with you owls44, but what goes on at the FIU message board has nothing to do with the state of the rivalry or no rivalry. And what goes on at this board, the same. We're having a little fun here and supporting FAU. This is not rivalry of the message boards.

If those 10-15 people that regularly participate on that board don't even think FAU is worth mentioning, its ok. Like I said, this isn't battle of the boards.

FYI, when Josh Pinnick was interviewed a month or so ago, he said the FOOTBALL TEAM, not the message board members, gets more fired up against MTSU than against FIU. So there you have it. The football team, not the message board, considers MTSU a bigger rival than FIU.

FAU: FIU's nightmare

I had a little fun with their board last year leading up to the final conference BB game. Their board insisted that they could care less about FAU until their #1 player stated in a news interview that FAU was their rival.

As stated above, it doesn't matter what we say on the boards it matters what the athletes say, those 10 -15 delusional fans don't speak for their teams.

GO OWLS!

FAU: FIU's nightmare

Hello members of the FIU sports message board!!!!

We know you have this thread linked to your board!!!

The comment "FAU is lame" is not accurate. We had a good year against you and this was our first year in the Belt. This trend will continue!

I think I read on there last year about this time someone said his 86 y/o grandmother could beat FAU's football team. I could probably look for it and find it if you like. ;D

FAU: FIU's nightmare

Maybe FIU fans don't consider it a rivalry because they have had a very difficult time competing with FAU. They are simply trying to downplay the significance of all of the losses.

Also, rivalry games tend to be for special trophies if I am not mistaken. Minnesota and Iowa play for "Floyd of Rosedale," Minnesota and Wisconsin play for "Paul Bunyan's Axe," Auburn and Alabama play in the "Iron Bowl," Florida and Miami play for the "Seminole War Canoe," Kentucky and Louisville play for the "Governor's Cup," Virginia and Virginia Tech play for the "Commonwealth Cup" and FAU and FIU play for the "Don Shula Trophy." Sounds like a rivalry to me even if it isn't the same scale as some of the other games that I mentioned.

GO OWLS….4 time winners of the "Shula Bowl" and current holders of the "Don Shula Trophy"!!!
