FAU Football in the Polls

Post

I mean, what kind of society do we live in?

The season ended less than 12 hours ago and they already have out next year's top 25 forecast?!

Dude, even worse…..SB Nation has New Year's Day bowl predictions….FAU mentioned in Fiesta Bowl section…..it's crazy

Not in the coaches poll either – we really didn't budge at all in that one. Guess the Akron game was a throwaway to the voters. Still had 35 votes, the #29 team in the land per the coaches.

Nope, we went backwards (sort of), TROY passed us and now tied with Fresno and South Carolina WE were 28 by ourselves. SUCKS!!!

I beg to differ…

 :Smug:

Bob isn't around so I won't get in trouble for saying this but we would have CRUSHED Troy this season…no way whatsoever they would have been able to keep up with the offense.

Sure, they beat some teams we played (not nearly as convincingly), but come fourth quarter we would have wore them out like a cheap sandal.

Yup – the bowl game showing did nothing to help us. Should have had a better match up!

Something that keeps coming up is the Buffalo loss. Without it we'd be 12-2. Might have been enough to get us into Top 25 officially. Who knows.

Again underscoring how important the Oklahoma and UCF games are next year. If we want to be in the Top 25 we need to pull some rabbits out of our hat there to impress the voters.

The Buffalo loss is probably less about us getting to 12 wins and more about us losing to a middle of the pack MAC team. As a voter who probably doesn't follow FAU closely, they easily could look for our worst loss and compare that to the other bubble teams and discard us because of it.

When you have so many 10+ win teams across the country, every "bad loss" is magnified and unless you are a top-5 program and can offset it with a bunch of other games against top-25 opponents it really hurts.

Agree with ya there. And the BAD showing by the MAC (1-4) including conference Champ being shut out, along with BAD ending to CUSA bowl season (lost last 3!), none of that helped at all!Just made us look like best of also ran conferences!

Lane Kiffin calls national polls a joke after FAU finishes outside top 25
