FAU Football Celebration on Saturday, January 19th!!!

I actually really like the name "The Burrow".  I kind of wish the basketball arena wasn't already named that, it would make a great nickname for the football stadium.

Teambeer is the most knowledgeable FAU sports fan I know, way smarter than me.

Agreed. It's kind of wasted now, especially if it becomes a Volleyball Arena.

In the emails sent out by FAU, they ARE calling it the Burrow Arena.

???

CAN WE HIRE SOMEONE WHO ACTUALLY UNDERSTAND THE TERM "BRANDING", AND CAN LEAD OTHERS IN THE QUEST PLEASE?

The said

"I was never really fond of calling it The Burrow, that's all.  I'd like for it to have a *true* name other than FAU Arena…"

thanks for the clarification, i understand now…

well, if not that (which is what Owls live in), then what would be your suggestion(s)?

i dont want to get into trouble with Bytor and LM77 for "getting off topic" ;D

maybe we should move this to the basketball thread??  i'll put one on there:

What should the Arena be called if you dont like "The Burrow"?

Why does almost every thread have to degenerate to a facilities (stadium / arena ) discussion?  ???  I avoid those types of threads here because most of it is a rehash of things said 3 years ago. :(

Here's an update to the original post at the beginning of this thread:

FAU Football to Hold Championship Celebration

Ceremony to be Held Prior to Basketball Doubleheader

After a historic season in which the Florida Atlantic University football team became the fastest startup football program in history to win a bowl game, the team will be honored in a special ceremony.

A celebration of the Owls’ season, which included a Sun Belt and New Orleans Bowl championship, will be held on Saturday, January 19. It will take place in the FAU Arena at 3:30 p.m., just prior to a men’s and women’s basketball doubleheader against North Texas. The team will be on hand, and fans will be able to relive the highlights of FAU’s phenomenal season and its remarkable accomplishments.

The event is free and open to the public. All fans in attendance will receive a commemorative New Orleans Bowl ticket autographed by Head Football Coach Howard Schnellenberger. The first 1,000 fans will also receive a specially designed New Orleans Bowl championship poster. Ticket information for the 2008 football season will also be available. In addition, apparel and memorabilia celebrating the bowl win will be on sale.
