So split the difference and we're back to 6-6, I'll take that.

Same. We need to get back to (or exceed) 0.500 this season…

Re: FAU goes 9-4...

My non professional opinion is red shirt Driskel this year. Start German this year , Quez next year and then we are set at QB for a while. Who ever works their way to the top will be there for a while.

I got a feeling Quez is going to get the nod this year. I think his frame is more durable for the opening month of the schedule. I could see that battle lasting in the late weeks of camp.

I am fairly certain that if German is eligible he will be the starter.

GO OWLS!

And we really should beat NMSU, and no reason we can't beat Marshall either… so that makes us 11-2…. not bad!

If FAU goes 8-4 and wins a bowl game we will be searching for a new coach - not a bad problem to have actually - like having two JUCO qb's to battle it out and give depth at the position.

Re: FAU goes 9-4...

I wonder at what salary do we run less of a risk of that. brad Stevens at Butler or heck, Mario Cristobal are examples of guys not willing to leave for a quick buck. Both had offers after some success but saw the long term possibilities at their current schools and stayed.

If we go 8-4 (don't think it's happening this year) Pelini gets offers from some other programs, sure, but it's not like Alabama is firing Saban to get him there. If the wins start piling up we'll have to pony up though, as long as we're competitive then I can't imagine Pelini leaving to go to Miami Ohio or Rutgers or something like that. IIRC Pelini is low-mid pack for CUSA coach pay, if he performs (which I think he is already doing well) then he needs more.
