FAU in Big East

There saying 2007 but thats iffy considering what they want to do.. Ive heard anywhere from a 30-45 thousand seat domed stadium. Personnaly I think that will last us a few years but eventually they will need to expand to 65,000, thats why I dont think they sould build a dome just yet. At our rate of progress, if it continues we will sell out those 30,000 seats every game.

I dont think the 15,000 will be an issue. some 15 1A programs didnt reach that last year and we have proven that we can contend. If they keep us out I see some leagal issues coming up twords the NCAA. They vote again this year on the attendance policy, if those 15 teams again didnt make it and FAU and FIU didnt hit it I doubt they will continue it. I hope not anyway....

I can see a whole lot of issues coming down on the NCAA about attendance. A lot of teams will have to be relegated back to D1-AA.
Hopefully the vote will probably be to repeal the rule.

But….We still need to hit the mark, and more, from a revenue standpoint also. It's expensive to play football on any level. Even more expensive in a conference on the D1-A level.

On a lighter note. Can you imagine a pi$$ed off FAU team playing down in D1-AA again????
Move the playoffs to Lockhart and engrave the trophy.. ;D

Relax allsports. Our crystal balls are a little foggy right now. It's all speculation by a group of fans talking FAU football.

We don't know what will happen in the future. However FAU is in the transitional year of D1-A. Full membership is in 2005. What the future hold beyond that, we don't know. Yes they do play the championship at New Orleans.

If the undecided player believes that FAU will be in the Big East during his tenure at FAU, then that's between him and what the recruiting coach is telling him. We (on this board) can't say that for sure.

he has 3 other offers, but he really wants to go to FAU, I haven't seen this passion in him and commitment in doing one thing like he has been when we talk where he would like to play football, maybe it's what the coaches at FAU have been saying to him about FAU, but his mind is made up to play in FLA., either its the weather (Hurricanes not included) he is tired of cold & snow up here., and playing time means more to him than going to a big time program. Of course its up to him and I'll accept his wishes, but dont tell anything that is not true like (BE) if its not going to happen in his 5 years at FAU.

Hopefully he stays the course and comes to FAU. Again, I will distance myself from anything the coaches may be telling him. I am not privy to any talks between FAU and recruits. I'm just rattling off conference talk about proposals and potential developements.

BE talk? I can say to you ….Never say never when Coach Schnell is involved. The man has worked wonders!

Im sure the BE will happen within 5 years. Schnellenberger put that in his plans and so far everything he said was going to happen has happend.

everything I'm hearing, I'm liking a real lot & so is my son, I think he would be making the right decesion if he went to FAU. The caliber of football I have been watching on FAU, I have seen 3 games on TV so far on FAU like it alot. Especially when you see the head coach without headphones on, just like Joe Paterno, old time coaches dont need no headphones they have a game plan that they stick too, if it needs changing they do it at half time. Gotta like it!

Yes they do play the championship at New Orleans.

Actually, that is incorrect. There is no Sun Belt championSHIP game played in New Orleans. There is only a Sun Belt champion and the Sun Belt champion plays a team from CUSA in the New Orleans Bowl. Maybe that's what you meant, but I just wanted to clarify that just in case.
