FAU is Looking Good- BobcatSports.com
I see things don't change - before we couldn't get any respect from 1-AA, even after making the playoffs - we were called lucky and had a favorable draw. Last time I checked we didn't make the draw, but we made the semi's and we felt pretty good doing so.
We start off by beating Hawaii and North Texas, two bowl teams last year. So, I am in agreement with BurrowingOwl that Hawaii & NTU were are biggest games going into the season and they remain our biggest victory so far. Our wins to MTSU last year was huge also because it was our first victory over a D-1A team and the win this year is just as big because, lets face it, 3 wins over D-1A school in the same year is just that, BIG. First off, when we faced Hawaii, they where undefeated at the time (0-0), could it be that the lost to little FAU side tracked their season a bit (kind of reminds me of UCF last year - their season turned sour after facing-off with the Fighting Owls, I guest they didn't like the Owls droppings we left behind).
NTU for that matter is still the three time SBCC last time I checked and haven't started conference play yet.
And now what MTSU can't handle a double dose of Owl Droppings - I don't blame you, kind of stinks, especially the second time around.
And now we are 13-1 in our last 14 games, I'd say thats not to bad, so BluePride Raider what is MTSU record the last 14-games? What you have are excuses.
We still can't get any respect - they say we are [glow=red,2,300]"OVER-RATED"[/glow]
I say - whatever.
Go Owls!!
Well, Bytor. To be quite honest with you, Hawaii is the toughest team FAU has played in your history and Hawaii got destroyed by perennial WAC bottom feeder, Rice.
Let's be honest Bytor. Hawaii beat Rice last year, and North Texas CRUSHED Baylor by like 30+ points. One year made a major difference. North Texas was marred by the unexpected death of a star quarterback, academic ineligibility and team violations against several of their finest skill players at widereceiver and runningback. They now have lost their #1 runningback, Patrick Cobbs–most likely for the entire season.
UNT is down. Hawaii is down. MTSU is down. I'm not saying FAU isn't any good. But what I am saying is that you beat three teams that are not playing up to where everyone thought they would be. Even after we lost to FAU, we were still favored to beat Louisiana-Lafayette in many lines. And guess what? We didn't. And you know why? Because we aren't any good this year. We are so bad we may not even have a winning record playing the most powderpuff schedule in all of 1-A this year.
But as far as comparing your last 14 games to ours? You can't do that. FAU would have a losing record playing our schedule from last year. I mean, c'mon! Missouri? Clemson? These teams would've waxed FAU just like they beat us. These BC$ teams do not lose to the likes of Colgate or Valdosta State.
Our schedule last year was far more diffictult than FAU's, Bytor. In all honesty there is no comparison there. I would sure hope that you could have had a better record expecially after beating us and almost beating Central Florida.

Hey BlueRaiderPride!! One thing is for sure….Our Fighting Owls have been through a lot together in the past four years, and they have been and are being coached by arguably the best coaching team in college football today. Give us the respect we deserve, especially considering the fact that we went to YOUR house and beat you two years in a row. Go Owls!
I can agree with you. And unlike whatever Bytor said. I do not think FAU is overrated. I was simply pointing out, that FAU beat three less than extravagant non-BC$ Division 1-A schools and there are plenty of Valdosta States and Colgates left on your schedule.

Blue Raider.. WE ARE D-1AA!!!!!!!!!!….. beating 1A schools is a step up for US… we dont really care what your record was in the past, right now all we care about is winning, we could beat good schools we could beat $htty schools, a win is a win for us right now while were trying to establish a spot in the sun belt. Were not going around braging on boards that we beat their teams, nor will we countinue to make excusses if we loose weeks after the lose. You need to MOVE on!! Were getting ready for the Texas State game… you should be talking about your game with North Texas, not us! WE BEAT YOU LAST YEAR, WE BEAT YOU THIS YEAR AND I HOPE WE CONTINUE TO BEAT YOU you need to move on(sorry guys, that was braging… Im just tired of this guy)
Preach on bcmatzen! Can I get an AMEN from the congregation!

We have never prettained to be anybody other then The Fighting Owls of FAU.
Also, I will agree with you that we all have our down year, but you don't hear the GATOR fan after a loss to UT, that it was a down year for them, well get you next time - I DON'T THINK SO!! Down year is part of the game, injuries is part of the game and you don't have to remind us about that, because during our second season (2-9) injuries was a major issue, but guest what we didn't cry wolf about it. You lose guy to academics or for whatever stupid reason - it part of the game (or is it it's in the game - EA Sports). A good coaching staff knows that College Football changes year-in and year-out and can make the required adjustments and sometimes, that does mean a few extar losses. You don't have to belittle a team because you say your team is in a down year. As I remember wasn't MTSU suppose to compete for the SBC title this year? or at least you made us believe that.
And BlueRaiderPride - we are not comparing ourselve to anybody, everybody else has (yes, this includes you).
We are enjoying this moment, because we also remember what brought us here at this point in time.
Every game up to this point, is in the history books my friend from MTSU. We can talk about history with if's and but's, but it's of no use, history cannot be changed.
You are also correct that your schedule was tougher, never said it wasn't, never compared ours to yours if I remember. Remember your schedule should have been tougher, you are D-1A and we are D-1AA.
Those are the things that matter not, we are 3-0 for the first time and we are enjoying the moment. And just to make sure you understand we HAD to PLAY those 3-games in order to WIN THEM. Now that's a silly statement I know, but the fact remains be played three games and came out victorious in all three.
